With so may beers (new and classic) from which to choose these days, and the emphasis on seasonals and rarities, it's inevitable that many year-round beers—even if they are/were rated World Class—will gather dust. Here are 3 that I've had at least once and really enjoyed, but not in a few years and hadn't really thought about revisiting (until this thread ):

    North Coast Old Stock
    Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout
    Stone Arrogant Bastard

Forgotten by me. I realize the BA community find my list garbage. I love all of these, I just rarely drink them, once a year at best. Pauline is a must.

Maybe they don't sit on shelves, as it is more that I just buy other things at this point..but:
    1) Delerium Tremens
    2) Leffe
    3) Anchor Steam

These were all 3 of the main beers I used to buy 10-12 years ago.

    1. DFH - Red & White, Bitches Brew, Sixty-one, etc I love 90% of their brews. Also really miss Immort Ale.

    2. Hitachino Nest White - hands down one of the best wits I've ever had, forgotten mainly due to $5 a bottle for a wit.

    3. Stone Enjoy By - passed 6 months I also pass by it I guess I've just had enough even though I love it.

There is certainly overlap. And I don't necessarily disagree with your point. I can't speak to the sales of Duvel or Aventinus, and if they're on the high end, then I'd definitely be repeating some criteria.

But beers like Sierra Nevada Pale are not beers forgotten. Especially perplexing was Weihenstephan's Hefeweizen. I see that beer on tap all the time, it's rated quite high on Beeradvocate (higher than Sculpin or Enjoy By for example). And it's always mentioned in hefeweizen threads.

I think his topic is intriguing, so my main purpose was to allow Beeradvocate members to list their own "beers forgotten" rather than create something entirely different than the author.

Yes, I thought the same thing after I posted it!
