Your bad (beer) habits

Eating/snacking whenever I drink beer. I can usually make it through half a beer, but then I start reaching for chips, pretzels, candy, leftovers, etc. If I'm out at a bar, I will invariably end up ordering fries or wings or something like that.

My car has the bad habit of stopping at the bottle shop near my house every time we drive by, then my wallet follows suit for new bottles I've not tried, even if my fridge has several waiting.

Same here. I home brew also. I always have way too much around even after giving a lot away to the kids.

 

Not drinking during the week.

Buying too much beer, even when I say I don't want to buy anymore... With homebrewing, my space is very limited now...

I try not to drink until the kiddo is down (around 7:30 - 8:00) and then I crack one open. I usually like to drink a couple to a few (good habit) but now it's so late when I start, and I'm freakin' exhausted from chasing the l'il monster around, that I usually fall asleep with a full beer left on the coaster...beer wasted!

And now I have another on the way! Crap!

 

My bad habit is drinking beer, but so it is also my good habit...

 

"Three bottles approaching the expected freshness range. Imperative to drink them tonight."
"I only bought bombers to share. Never mind, I want that and they don't have 12-oz."
"This one may run out in my area. Yes, I do need a second 4-pack to make sure I don't run out."
"Only one beer per meal. Never mind, I drank it before food came and will choke if I don't have something to wash it down."

 

Always having to buy beer I haven't tried yet. Many times, passing on ones I know I like, for ones that end up tasting less than desirable. Therefore wasting my hard earned money. But then again, how will I find the next gem if I don't keep looking.

Thumbing my nose at peoples cheap beers (read: anything BMC). It's their money, they can use it however they wish to use it. And I shouldn't be rude just because they like crappy beer.

 

Pretty much this. If I'm reviewing I usually try not to smoke until I'm done so it doesn't affect my taste and smell perception too much.

But if I'm just drinking to get drunk I usually end up with a few full ashtrays because I'm lazy.

 

Yup, this is my number 1 bad habit..

 

Not paying attention to the order in which I drink beers. I'll often start with an imperial stout I bought and then decide it's a good time to try a new lager immediately afterwards. Always ends up making the lighter beers afterwards have no taste.

 

Buying enough beer to provide a nice hangover to the 7th US Infantry brigade just for me to drink next week which is impossible at 2 beers a nite.
