I called Boat the flagship because it is currently the most available beer that you are producing. I wasn't trying to label it as anything more.

Keep making quality beer and I'll keep trying to get my hands on some of it.

Augie, thanks for the link to the 2/4/14 podcast.

I think that you stated in the discussion that you would be OK with brewing Carton beer at Two Roads Brewing in Connecticut. You used the concept of borrowing a kitchen, did I understand you correctly? It is now 2015, do you still feel that way? Any chance we beer consumers will be seeing Carton beers that were actually brewed by ‘borrowing a kitchen’ in CT anytime soon?

    Cheers!

    Jack

P.S. The above discussion about Two Roads was around the 48:00 mark.

What I like about boat is how good it is for so many different situations. It's not super heavy but still has a great flavor. Most other session ales I've had tend to have a watery-ness to them and it really takes away from the beer for me. I live in PA so when I am down in NJ visiting family I always make sure to pick up at least 3 4-packs just to have around the apartment.

If I can plug one of my favorite current podcasts, Steal This Beer, Augie (Augie Carton, Mr. Carton, not sure how to address someone I have never physically met, but is part of my commute a few times a week) said he wouldn't be opposed to doing something at Two Roads or an equivalent at some point, but there is nothing currently in the works. I think this was brought up during a recent episode when Chickenbone was back as co-host.

i'm not for or against it. i like cooking in my kitchen because i know how to do it. but sometimes i like going to friends i like cooking with and cooking with them in their kitchen. we did sit down son at smutty and felt lucky for the opportunity to play in/with the kitchen of people we respect

Augie, do I get to 'vote' too? If so, permit me to vote: yes, please cook in another kitchen.

I am sure that I am not alone in wanting to drink Carton beer. A few months ago I asked an old college buddy who lives in South Jersey to buy me some cans of Carton beers but every retailer he stopped in was out of Carton beer. It seems that unless you 'track' deliveries and are able to get to the retailer on the day of delivery that you are SOL as regards to buying and enjoying Carton beer.

I would be willing to bet that Carton beer brewed at Two Roads Brewing would be both of high quality and high volume. That is a Win-Win from my perspective. Needless to say but you are the ultimate arbiter in this manner.

    Cheers!

    Jack

well thanks for that it is very nice to hear. right now we are working on expanding our home base as the next step, we have been pushing against the walls from about month 9 and are close to sorting that. boat (which is what it is really all about) wouldn't work at a place like 2 roads, but other ideas down the road may. its a case by case, idea by idea basis. once we've solved "more boat" we will solve "more beer."
