This should please the fans constantly yearning for a more malty Short's offering.

BCP was bottled, today- probably released in 1, maybe 2 weeks. Michigan only, folks!

Black Cherry Porter is made using local Northern Michigan sweet black cherries, eight different malts, and three varieties of hops. The combination of ingredients provides the deep radiant flavor profile and creates a dark opaque color. The beer leaves a slight purple lace from the fruit puree and finishes with flavors of roasted chocolate and pleasurable black cherry.
Black Cherry Porter is one of the oldest beers in our portfolio. It was brewed for the first time on July 29, 2004 as the 35th batch of beer ever brewed at Short’s.
    7 % ABV
    40 IBU

Been waiting to try this since it was first mentioned in last years fall variety pack. The wait is almost over!

Thank fucking god. The ales and pale everything have been over-kill.

I love shorts ales and pales. Shorts should sell their pale ales in pails

Black Cherry Porter will be a first timer for me. Anyone care to enlighten me on their opinion of this one?

Straight up porter with a dark tart cherry flavor at the end that doesn't overpower. But it hasn't been bottled for awhile so things can always change.

Was just at Shorts this weekend and was hoping for it to be there since it was on the release calendar for October. The bartender told me it wasn't coming until December!!!

Not that I haven't enjoyed the rest of the year, but these last releases are some of my favorites by any brewer, period. (I'm excluding Queen Bee only because I haven't had it yet).

Is the thickness of this brew about the same as publican?
