Publick House is currently pouring Duet (with Hoppy Bday and Nelson on deck).

A nice draft addition to our area.

Agree, as much as I'd like to check out Mead Hall and Hobo, the Republic of Cambridge is just too far outside my Brookline comfort zone...especially considering the Public House is a 5 minute walk.

If Alpine shows up at Coda, Picco, or Salty Pig I will be a very happy person.

Ha, I can empathize with that. I'm on the Cambridge side, so I didn't want to head to Publick House.

Duet and Hoppy Birthday still flowing at Meadhall. Plus some others like Hop Hunter, Nugget Nectar, and Barrel-aged Old Ruffian. Well priced I thought too.

And all so readily available.ha...the the reason I'm happy as HELL to have great breweries from other parts of the country here.

I think peoples definition of "readily available" varies greatly

That's a cool list that doesn't exist anywhere in MA. To purchase all those would take about a week, 2 tanks of gas, and some luck!

I love alpine - been to the Brewer twice in trips to San Diego. I hope the reports from the other threads are either exaggerated or that they've worked through the whole gf not nailing their new partners recipes piece.

Also - these should be compared to other top west coast offerings and not to New England hyper local breweries that have their own style going on. They are great beers and hope they hold up!

Had a duet bottle last night and it was pretty unremarkable. I've never had the original non-green flash version so I don't know how far off it is. I'm going to San Diego next month and will hopefully get to try some beer that they actually brew.

I'd have to say that GF is still trying to dial in the recipe. I had the GF Alpine Duet last night and the last one I had was Alpine's version. It's close, but that "Pat-McIlhenney-touch" isn't there yet. I had the pleasure of sharing a beer with him and his wife (great people) and they were confident in GF's ability and new equipment to get it spot-on.

Here's to you trying Nelson and Duet at the source!

Price was decent on the duet (7.99) but pretty mediocre beer. Doubt I will pick up anything else by them.

Sip was developed as a specific recipe to contract brew. I know their was lots of chatter that it was a double sunshine clone but that is not the case and never Sean's intentions

    From the lawsons blog:
It was close to his intentions likely only limited by hop contracts.

Yes but Lawsons is not claiming they are exactly the same.. Different name, logo, and packaging. Gf is supposed to be brewing alpine beers that are the same and they are not.

I had a GF brewed Nelson in SFO last week and it was very good -- so good I say close enough to the alpine brewed version. I was a skeptic -- they've made a believer out of me that they can dial in the recipe. HB still a little too bitter and I could care less about Duet -- wasn't a fan of that beer to begin with.
