What beer are you drinking now? #1089

Brooklyn Brown Ale. I named this beer as one of my 3 great forgotten beers in a thread a few days ago. Picked up a 6 pact this AM. I had forgotten how good this brews awesome stuff. The other 2 beers I named were Victory Golden Monkey and Anderson Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout , better go pick up some of them now too.

 

Sheffield's in Wrigleyville in Chicago, Oud Beersel Oude Geuze Vieille. My first gueuze!!! Most excellent, IMHO.

More MT for me today, kind of hoping this isn't the last time I see them out this way to be honest.



A little light, but rightly so at this ABV and overall nicely done with a well-rounded palate of spice, citrus, and a good yeast profile. This would definitely be in my summertime fridge rotation were it readily available to me.

Last year this time of year I tried to like pumpkin beers. Tried 4 or 5 and realized it's just not my thing. Told myself I wasn't going to bother this year. Then I saw this in the cooler:



Absolutely love every barrel aged beer I've ever had from Central Waters, so I decided to give it a go. While the barrel does come through very nice, and this is the best pumpkin beer I've had, I won't be doing it again. Cheers.

 

If you liked it, just wondered why you wouldn't buy this again?

I like the barrel influence, but the pumpkin spices in beer just aren't my thing I guess.
The last time I was at the doctor my liver "numbers" had increased enough that he warned me I need to cut back on my alcohol consumption so I've gotten a little pickier about what I consume. There are so many beers I really love that I don't care to waste any of what I can consume on beers that don't really do it for me.
