Michigan Ann arbor breweries and more

So you went to Bell's and nothing stood out on the list of 35+ beers, many of them that never hit bottles or see any kind of distro....? I'd find it tough to suggest anything that would meet your standards, knowing that.

 

And passing on Jolly Pumpkin just because they may only have their regular lineup on, is always a mistake.

 

Not sure if you're trolling or have extremely high expectations. Bell's and Dark Horse always have solid offerings.

 

If the current Dark Horse list has Cocoa Bourbon Nibler, that one is reason enough to find a way to stop there.

 

Why do you say that? I live a few blocks from JP and I feel like I'm disappointed every time I go in there. It's not even that they only have shelf stuff - they have LESS than shelf stuff. Last 3 times I've gone they haven't even had Roja.

The shitty party store down the street literally has a better selection of Jolly Pumpkin than the Jolly Pumpkin taproom.

 

I particularly love Wolverine! They brew some solid beers and the food is awesome!

 

Witch's Hat is worth a stop imho--25 mins NE of AA. They have a few great beers and I would think they have Train Hopper IPA for sale in cans if you're going to be there relatively soon.

Tap list is big enough that they will have a few interesting ones on and they aren't distributed so going to the pub is basically the only option to try them.

They don't sell food, but they'll let you order in and they often have a BBQ truck there (depending on the time/day you're there).

Best beer I've had all year. This is an outlier, though. Usually they just have the regular stuff on tap and awesome atmosphere.

 

There is always stuff on tap that is not regular...I ride out there a couple times a month during spring/summer/fall and never have a problem with the tap list..

 

What about arbor brewings corner brewery in ypsilanti, they have a new kitchen with awesome food. Violin monster on tap is awesome.

 

In Ann Arbor, you can also check out Ashleys and Hopcat (literally a 2 minute walk from eachother).
