I thought the same thing, and was a bit surprised by that (as I don't recall last year's version being quite so bitter). Like you, I still thought it was great, and I had no difficulty plowing through my 6 pack over the weekend.

Outside of all the three FH Crux beers, I'd have to say that the FH Wanderlust was my favorite. Cowiche was right up there though, and I liked the FtG Fresh as well.

Don't sleep on the Sunriver selections, tried D'Kine (Mosaic) the other day and it was probably my second favorite behind Breakside Simcoe.

Just had a pint of D'Kine @ Hop N Cork in Lake Oswego! Nice nose & a solid Sunriver beer. D'Bomb is far better, for my tastes.

I'm going to grab a growler, for science...& to wrest it from those rich fools.

D'Bomb was great as well - I'm just a big Mosaic fan

Please excuse my gopickitupformebro-ing, but if there's anyone headed to or thru Portland, Salem, or vicinity on Saturday that could bring a sixer or two of Cowiche, I'll make it worth your while. Unfortunately, I have no plans to travel north of the Columbia any time soon, and don't want to miss out on this beer for another year. PM me if you can help out.

@John_M - feel free to delete if my groveling is inappropriate.

Groveling is never inappropriate (the world would be a better place with more of it!).

Quick question. I'll be up in Tacoma this weekend, and should be able to pick up a sixer or two for you (whatever you want). However, I won't be coming back down through PDX until Sunday, though I do plan to stop by HOTD on my way home to Eugene (probably around noon or so). If that would work for you, shoot me a BM.

Oh, me too. I feel it has a nice nose fresh, but really shines in a profile dried & complimented by stronger aromatic hops (Joe's mix is ideal for me: Simcoe, Amarillo & Mosaic).

I am getting a growler of D'Kine, tonight, regardless!

Unfortunately, won't be able to make it up to PDX on Sunday. Thanks for the offer though. Plus, the Fremont thread is making it sound like it may not be very easy to come by anymore anyway. Should've groveled sooner...

Belmont Station has I think 6 or 7 fresh hop beers on. Horse Brass has 8, though oddly enough only 1 is an IPA, and that's Six Point. I think Belmont's list was similarly IPA-free.

Had FH Suicide Squeeze at Latona last night. Nice and light with a faintly dank aroma.

Also had Island Hoppin's Mosaic FH pale with dinner at Salare. Great beer and I was incredibly impressed with Salare. Wonderful food.

Ft. George Fresh IPA finally showed up in Bend today, and went straight to the my top tier. Popped the can, and before I could pour it, the fresh hops hit my nose. Aroma and taste were on par with last year, well done Jack and team!

There's only one, but that Fresh Hop Head Hunter is fucking delicious. That said, it is strange that we haven't been able to find many more. It seems like all the FH IPAs came out first, and now we're seeing lots of pales and lagers at the trail end of the season. My working theory is that many of the early releases took beers that were already in the tanks and simply dry hopped the shit out of them with fresh hops, and the ones we're seeing now actually had fresh hops thrown in on brew day.

On a packaged note, Chasin Freshies arrived yesterday, and this year's version features Lemon Drop hops.

I imagine this is what Breakside did, w/ the addition of Mosaic being the annual FH one-off showcase. Delivery schedules must play a role, as well.

Excited for the Deschutes! Mosaic was my 1st FH last year when I moved to PDX...& I loved it enough to remember it thoroughly.

I'm over on Bainbridge Island today, had Bainbridge's Amarillo SMaSH FH. Really good.

The Buoy Fresh Hop Session IPA was good, but I kept thinking how nice a fresh hop version of their Czech Pils might be. And then I thought, "Well no. They'd have to brew it 2 months ahead and time it perfectly to dry hop it with fresh hops." Problematic...

Three fresh hop beers on tap at Fort George's Lovell Taproom: Fresh IPA, Suicide Squeeze (the nose is amazing, all grapefruit and catty), and Optimist IPA.

Don't know if it's been answered yet but I got the scoop on Naked City's fresh hop. They were supposed to do a collaboration with Lazy Boy but didn't get their hops in time. So no fresh hop from Naked City. Color me supremely bummed.

I asked Don Webb about it on Facebook and his answer was just that they didn't have time to make one. That's interesting.
