I love Rare Dos (especially the batch that came out Christmas time last year). I think it is beer than Rarer. And this is the best Rare Dos I have ever had. Compared to the batch released in June...this has more barrel characteristics and chocolate and less heat when drinking it fresh. Can't wait to try it from the bottle in a few months

Lets not veer off the path again. Its just beer! I love Cycle and I love Goose Island! :stuck_out_tongue: All of us need to have a bottle share and get drunk and talk smack over great beers!

I'll be in town tomorrow, what does this sub think the chances are that Cycle will still have Lost Dos bottles for sale?

I always trade bottles like this at $4$...as long as I get beer I want, thats all I care about. That said, its almost impossible for me to get Cycle bottles most of the time because I live an hour away...by the time I find out via social media, its too late to make the drive through Tampa traffic to get to St Pete.

Truthfully I think a lot of Cycles get traded for other Cycles $4$ because they're so hard to get. To take a chance on trading for something other than a well known whale or desired beer and pay shipping just doesn't make sense in most cases. Unless you live across the street and don't have a job it's tough to get every single release, but often you'll end up with 2 of this, 4 of that and trade for the ones you can't get. (IE Pallet 2 for Pallet 4, etc)

Rare Dos was $20 and these were aged twice as long (12-14 months)...I don't think $5 is a reach. I'm not for the rising prices trend but I don't think Cycle falls into that category, at least yet.

Ignore Rare and just look at other breweries stout releases, with many not being aged 1 year+: BA Cakes were around $35 (ignoring on-site $), Assassin $30+, Mornin Delight $40 and no barrels, BVDL $50, regular Huna is $20, BA Biscotti & BASS around $30.
Aside from the best value beers like Parabola and Central Waters, Cycle is right in line or often times cheaper.

*Doug, please don't read this and realize most are happy to pay even more!
