I'm going to be honest, as a Mets fan who has lived in LA for 8 years, I've never really felt very safe at Dodger Stadium. And I typically don't drink at games, nor do I make any comments at Dodgers fans. I might stand and clap if someone hits a home run (like Murphy's in game 1) but for the most part I keep to myself and keep quiet. Even so, Friday night as the game was ending some drunk guy down the row from me starting lunging and swinging at a Mets fan nearby. I had to turn to shield myself, and quickly took my hat off my head lest he notice the logo on it.

My buddy who I was with had a knife pulled on him in the parking lot by someone who told him to "take [his] fucking shirt off".

It sucks. I know 99% of Dodger fans aren't like that, but it's a shame the ones who are ruin it for everybody else on BOTH sides of the fandom.

holy shit... Yea I act the same way at away games, I'll cheer, but I'm not going to be obnoxious. Are regular season games tamer? I was thinking of going up when the Mets are in LA next season.

Regular season games are definitely tamer but I've been taunted and had beer dumped/popcorn thrown before. I've learned that it's best to pay for more expensive tickets. Taunting, you know...it's fine. I can sit there and shut up and take it. My first game in '07 was when I had a beer thrown at my from behind. That was sitting out in the outfield near the visitor's bullpen. Now I pay like $75-$100 for field level tickets and I haven't had any incidents in the stadium. The parking lot is usually rougher so I take my hat off and walk quickly. Obviously playoff tickets are more $$$ so even at higher price ranges you're going to be sitting in dicier sections. I also try to go on fireworks nights because you get more families in the crowd, and the drunks are cleared out by the time it ends.

    horse shit

i know it's a small percentage of people and most fans are mature adults, but the idea of people fighting about games where people throw a ball around and hit it with a stick is fucking ridiculous

makes me ashamed of LA and i'm not a baseball fan

When I go, I normally sit in Right Field and have not had the problems. I go dressed in my Cubs shirt and my wife wears all her Cubs apparel as well. We cheer very loudly as well. Maybe I have a different experience because I am a 6'5" 250 lb angry looking dude.

But yeah, the parking lot always feels a little sketchy. Like something could happen there. I walk like I have somewhere to go.

Yeah, 6'0" 155 pound weakling here. Not the most intimidating-looking dude in the park.

I'm going tonight. I'm contemplating wearing my Savannah Sand Gnats hat tonight in honor of Jacob DeGrom's tenure there, instead of my regular Mets hat. Sitting waaaaaaaaay up in the cheap seats so don't want to risk any offense a Mets hat might cause.

Will also probably be back at Sunset Beer before the game.

Good luck kids, especially those rooting for the Mets. Violence at pro sports events is a small part of the reasons I don't watch any of them any more.

Anyway, last night at Hermosillo was bad ass, for anyone considering going there after the game tonight hopefully they have some stuff from last night still on tap, Cellarmaker's Tiny Dankster and Admiration, new batch of HPB The Achiever, etc.

I probably would, just to be safe. I wouldn't want to be wearing any Mets apparel if the Dodgers end up losing.

Yeah! I thought Admiration was just ok, but I loooooved Tiny Dankster. Achiever is really nice too, but I prefer Neon of the HPB stuff. And fwiw, the Duet is very subpar (in my opinion and the few other people I was drinking with), especially in comparison to all those other cool hoppy beers.

Everyone I was drinking with loved it last night. Everyone except me, that is. Hahaha

And agree on the Duet, I had it at another place last night and didn't care for it. Unfortunately it was the best thing on tap at the other place.

Made it thru the game and home safely, thankfully. I thought it sad that the loudest the crowd in the reserve section got was when Mets fans got up to go to the bathroom or grab food/drink. And one Dodger fan literally shouted at a random Mets fan walking out of the stadium that he was going to kick his ass in the parking lot. Oh well.

That said, hoping to pick up my Pushin' Carts from HPB/Hermosillo tomorrow - what's going on with this pumpkin beer they hinted at on Instagram!?

I am roughly the same build, couple extra inches and like 5 additional lbs. Running...a lot of running and I tend to be at a climbing gym 2-3x a week. Walk everywhere that is usually less than 3 miles away. But I also do all of this because job has me in a chair pretty much all day as well.

Absolutely. Right now I run 3-5 miles 3 days a week. In the past I've run a couple marathons, so that's four months of intense training when I cut back on my alcohol intake a lot. Those "cheat" nights when I don't have a run the next morning can get pretty sloppy.
