For the price, it's not as good as most other BA stouts I can name that cost about the same. Obviously, the question is always what's available. All the good BA stouts for a similar price are also rare-ish.

I prefer BA Insidious as an example of something cheaper and less rare. Same for
    Abita Bourbon Street Imperial Stout

I usually love Pumking and Warlock and am up for just about anything Southern Tier does. I definitely think it was the first time I bought something of theirs and was disappointed, and I know it was because of what I paid for it. The beer is OK but just not worth that price. Knock it down to the other price point and I'd happily throw a few bottles back every fall.

Despite the absurd price point, does anyone know if this will be released again this season?

The barrel on this ruined the beer IMO. You have to be a real big rum fan to enjoy this, which I am not. It pretty much tasted like straight booze. I can't speak to the BA Narwhal, since I was too drunk when I tried this. I purchased this as well, thinking it wasn't going to still be sitting on the shelf a year late.

Bought two last year, drank one and thought it was ok, definitely better than Pumking. I'm just not a fan of pumpkin beers anymore though.

They were way overpriced. As is pumking. I don't care how imperial it is.

Still have the other 2014 bottle sitting in the back of the fridge. Might just try in a few weeks to see if a year improved the flavor or not.

That all spice or nutmeg blend that southern tier uses gets old pretty fast.

I love this beer but it's way overpriced. The 2014 version is still sitting on shelves.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I saw a bunch of the 2014 version on the shelf at DeCicco in Armonk about a month ago. Either Southern Tier produced a ton of it or it just isn't as popular as they expected (or both).

Couldn't agree more about the Rum Aged Pumking. I thought BA Narwhal was a bit hot but not nearly as boozy as RA Pumpking. Good thing I have one more bottle of BA Narwhal stored away.

well, when it only hits NY/NJ and nowhere else, and with the high price point, its bound to sit.

iirc it hit ~six states last year, but your point remains. I do wish my locals in Manhattan still carried it because I have a friend down in FL looking to try it.

Word from a retailer is that the rum aged Pumpking was not produced this year so anything you see now and for the foreseeable future will be 2014.
