I dont doubt that thousands will show up. They have really done it right in terms of getting their name out there via press releases and social media.

Whats crazy is back in May of '06 when Surly had their grand opening, place was packed both days. That was before any social media. I dont recall them getting that much press in the few months prior, although they did win Best beer at Arborfest a few weeks before.

We will have both the Day Tripper Pale Ale and the Midnight Ryder Black Ale in 750s. Limit of 2 bottles of each per person. I'll be working behind the bar both Friday and Saturday and will try my best to get a beer in your hand during the crazy rush of thousands. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

So here is the scoop. Yes, we will open at 3pm on Friday. If there is a line we will open the doors a bit earlier, maybe 2:30... assuming the paint has dried by then. 750s of Day Tripper Pale Ale and Midnight Ryder Black Ale will be available, $5.99 each, limit 2 each per customer. We are excited, nervous, etc about this weekend... I hope everyone will be patient and have a good time, we can't wait to see you. The 750's are somewhat temporary until we roll our cans out to LQ stores sometime late September. Then we will continue to sell some special stuff in them out of the taproom until we reach the production limit that forces us to stop selling "growlers" or in our case 750's. Best, Tom.

Can I just bring my plastic or should I swing through an ATM on the way?

I cant even count how many articles I have seen/read in the past couple of weeks on these guys. MN Monthly, P. Press, Star Trib, City Pages, etc, etc. Inviting all the media/industry types to the brewery for a preview is a move all upstart breweries should take note of.

Tossing around the idea of making the trip up from Rochester. It would just be myself more than likely. Anyone meeting up prior to the event by chance? Never been to a grand opening of a brewery, or met fellow BA members.

Agreed smart launch. They are also all journalists so there was probably some industry knowledge that helped with the widespread and excellent coverage they have been getting. Not knocking them for that at all if you have the tools use 'em!

Congrats on the opening, can hardly wait to try MN's latest brewery.

Place is packed. Day tripper is a face punching pale. Midnight Ryder is tasty as well.

    Will be back often!

Does anyone have a link to or the addresses for all the new brewpubs/breweries in the Twin Cities. I'd like to map them out and get an idea where they will all be located. Thanks.

Made it, had a day tripper and bought my allotment. Lived up to expectations, great beers and a great taproom.

Enjoying more DT on my deck now

Try beermapping.com. they may have enough to get you started.

Otherwise I'm going to have to start compiling a list to geocode...

I was there!! Very nice building, it looks like the space is going to special when the renovation is complete and with tenants.

I had a Day Tripper and bought two 750's. A lot of the aspects that stand out to me are similar to the APA/IPAs O'so is putting out.

Also made it yesterday around 4pm. Very impressive, building and taproom absolutely gorgeous and homey. Reminded me a bit of Town Hall actually. Beer exceeded my expectations, had both and though they were very soild and fairly priced ($4.50 Imperial pints). Very friendly staff/owners. Will be back often, wish it was in LynLake!

Just left the tap room, Solid prices on the brew for sure, love the glass size with the imperial pint option, Had the Knight Ryder cask dry hopped with falconers flight hops, solid as hell, and then had the Day tripper very good APA, Will be a staple in the fridge when cans come out.

Just headed out and must say they are big time hop forward bitter beers. Enjoyed all 4, the cask Midnight Ryder was by far my favorite. Enjoyed the guy who asked for their beer that most matches Budweiser.
