New to Ohio (2015)

At Hoof Hearted now, no limit on Blabe. People leaving with multiple cases.

 

I really like these guys...but not only did they open early but they changed their minds about limits? We had planned to go for the third release in a row and now I'm a little frustrated.

 

End well this will not

 

Is there any Blabe left? I was planning on making the trip up but if theres not gonna be any left around 3 30-4 then theres no point...

 

I don't think any left anymore... Here now... They lifted the limit at first and then opened early.

 

Yeah, I had to swing by yesterday... They had free tours, 25% off the retail store and a KILLER draft list

Including... Nutsmasher, C-bus Yakima Fresh Hop, Citra Hopstalker, a couple JAFB's not to mention the usual suspects.

 

I agree. I was there Fri night. Was disappointed that I missed Jungle Juiced HH and Headshrinker, but after drinking a Nutsmasher I seemed to forget why. I like Yakima a lot more than Hopstalker. Great beer.

 

You have to go to the Cleveland Liquor areas.

 

Plenty of Blabe to go around. Like most I was a little worried when I saw they opened at 11:30, but there was still a ton of Blabe left when I got there at 1, and when I took off around 3pm. Such a good time, and my god that Mom Jeans with Maple and Pepper was effing amazing.

 

They kicked the keg of Yakima Fresh Hop while I was there but I did manage to try a sample of it. Fantastic beer. Wet hopped trailhead, Citra hop stalker...it was almost overwhelming. BBA spooky tooth was really good as well.

 

Every one of my friends managed to score an extra 4 pack of Blabe but when I come up to score an extra 4pk, it's all of sudden an issue. So it goes; my friend "yes", me "no", my other fiend "yes", their friends "yes."

 

What time did you get there? I got my case at around 12:45 no issue. I think they might have re-instated the limit later on but cannot confirm. Does anyone know if they ever did run out at 3-4pm or so? Watched those pallets drop quick.

Blabe was very, very good though. Had two cans at Hoof and liked it better than Musk, SoE and Konkey for sure. Was more balanced and more bitter which I liked. Very nice beer.

We stayed tailgating with friends in the lot until about 6:30... Beautiful evening.

 

Did you have the first canned batch? I actually thought it was the worst if the 4 canned releases. Nice up front on the palate but they it dropped off a cliff nothing behind it.

 

Big Bad Baptist is released. Anyone seen it this week?

 

Not sure actually, mine came off one of the two large pallets they had off to the side. I had two cans from the case I did buy and they were both fantastic, easily the best IPA I have had from them (Musk, South and Konkey). As my friend mentioned when we were having it, reminded me of Heady a little. Had the "juiciness" that you expect from Hoof, but had a really nice bitterness to balance... Unlike a few of their others which tend to lack some of that bitter balance. Was really nice...

 

This guy is messing with you. It was two four packs per, at least by the time I was there at 1:15pm. I triple checked.

Had one last night. Obviously delicious, but it might be too young, very grainy and yeasty still. Is that a thing? Might sit on em for at least a week.

 

This is relative to the last batch.

 

I got there around 12:20 and can confirm that there were no limits around that time. Some people even showed up with mules just to find out they didn't need them. It was flying by the cases so probably they set the limits later to save some for the later crowd.
