No doubt a good stout. I usually have a few Victory Storm Kings around. Right now it would be a 1 yr aged victory at sea.

Bell's Expedition stout always hits the spot on a cold day.

Like a lot of others I go for malty and strong (strong alone doesn't quite do it), and dark but not necessarily "black" and roasty. After compiling this it appears to me that I have a strong UK bent that didn't even realize!
    Here's the list:
    1- Thomas Hardy's (unfortunately I'm all out)
2- John Courage Imperial Russian Stout (also out, and not such a bad thing as the last batches were kind of sour)
    3- Gale's Prize Old Ale
    4- Anchor Old Foghorn
    5- North Coast Old Rasputin
    6- Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock
7- Rogue Old Crustacean (also out of stock - what am I doing?)
8- Sierra Nevada Bigfoot (preferably at least 1 year old)
    9- La Trappe Quadrupel
10- Hair of the Dog "Adam"
    11- Belhaven Wee Heavy
    12- Dogfish Head Immort Ale
13- Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout (a great bargain)
    14- Schneider Aventinus
    15- Theakston Old Peculiar
    16- McEwans Scotch Ale
17- Dogfish Head World Wide Stout (again, none left)
    18- Eggenberg Urbock23˚ OR Samichlaus
    19- North Coast Old Stock
    20- Victory Storm King

Péché Mortel is my perfect off-the-shelf winter beer. If it's good enough for the winters in Québec it's good enough for me.

Can you actually find Péché Mortel in China?
