I just skimmed the offering on SEC website. They're offering 3.3 million shares to public with 1 vote each, while founder Jack White, Jr. will own 3.2 million shares with 10 votes each. Only he and his children are allowed to own these other shares, so he will have roughly a 10-1 voting control of the company.

    *Edited for clarity.

Here is what grabbed my attention in the filing, for those of you that like to look at income statements.

    2014
    Revenue: $51.1M
    Net income: $4.3M

    Fist half of 2015
    Revenue: $53.7M
    Net income: $9.2M

2014 revenue was about twice 2013, and 2013 was about twice 2012. Not sure how long it will continue growth like that, but that is impressive.

I wish I saw Sculpin for 15.99. I don't buy a ton of it, but I do buy it as a treat. Even at $2.67 each, still cheaper than a bud light at most bars near me....

I buy draft Ballast Point from time to time. They do produce very good beer.

I do not buy 6-packs or cases of Ballast Point since they are over-priced for me.

    Cheers!

P.S. The fact that Ballast Point has large Revenue values per year does not surprise me see since they price their beer very high and there are consumers who are willing to pay these high prices.

I hope it works out for Ballast.

In related: I'm surprised no one's listed on the NYSE under symbol IPA.

I love Ballast Point beers and I do wish they would drop the price of Sculpin, Grunion, Victory at Sea six-packs a few dollars. I just hope they retain control.

Yeah, for the most part sculpin costs more than other 6 packs of craft but when the other option is pay $6-7 a pint of sculpin/grapefruit sculpin at the bars in the bay area, I'll go with the $2.50/12 oz at home. (6ers sell for $15 around here). They make great beer.

So, when you go to bars in the bay area what do you order and what do you pay for what you order?

    Cheers!

They are going the dual class structure route. Class A stock is for sale on the open market, Class B shares are kept by the controlling founders. Google did a similar thing if I recall.

I'll probably buy some shares. I like their beers and they have a lot of room to grow. I too wish their price points were a little lower, but I do pick up their stuff regardless from time to time.

Will you still feel this way once you become a shareholder?

    Cheers!

I respectfully disagree. Grunion, Sculpin, Grapefruit Sculpin, Big Eye, Dorado DIPA, and Victory at Sea are all very good. I really enjoyed their Pumpkin Ale, too.

They're some of the most well layed out designs in craft imo. Maybe you just don't like sea creatures? I know i sure do.

....and watch the quality decline. Going publicly-owned tends to be a dead weight on creativity and innovation.

Sculpin has got to be one of the most overrated beers around.
