Awesome to hear that Gose was a hit. Looking forward to trying it. Who did the other two?

I had a bunch of great beer over the last 5 days and I know a lot of you get up to MI for beer trips so I wanted to pass along some of my favorite beers from the trip in case you want to seek them out in your next adventure.

    Bells - Double Two Hearted
    Bells - Coffee Mustache
Bells - Uberon (this is very whisky forward and really doesn't retain the Oberon flavor but its good)
    Saugatuck - BA Neopolatian Stout
    Saugatuck - BA Holly's Lust
    Arcadia - Brown Cow
Vivant - Tart Side of The Barrel (easily the best barrel aged beer that they have done)
    Founders - Rye Death
    Pigeon Hill - OCP
    Oddside - Nihilist
    Oddside - Joker of Tarts

    Breweries to avoid:
    Elk
    Perrin
    Dutch Girl

What was wrong with Perrin? You know my thoughts on No Rules.

No Rules is great but that really is the only great beer that they have. Everything else has been pretty bad. I have been there a few times and struggle to find anything interesting on the menu and the regular beers a pretty pedestrian.

They have one of the coolest looking breweries in the GR area (reminds me a lot of a Denver brewery) but certainly don't go for the beer.

Any idea if they still have any left?

I was lucky enough to fund a sixtel of hopstalker at mcbrooms. Gona have a nice next few weeks crushing that bad boy. If anyone wants a fresh growler fill, hit me up, unfortunately there wasn't hardly any price break between that and the case price.

I highly doubt it, but I'm sure @randylangford could confirm either way.

I just had the Musk of the minotaur by Hoof Hearted, which is the horse name I always used when our school did night at the races years ago, and I have to say I didn't think it was good at all. Way too malty, no hops present at all. I don't know if I had a bad can or what but, I don't know why people were raving about it.

I was asked to sell our keg only by the glass (no growlers) so that more people could try it. I think that means it is very limited. I know the number of kegs but not the case count for the area.

I am guessing it was old or just a bad can. I've had it a few times and it is not at all how you described it.

Im pretty sure musk was 3 or 4 releases ago. not that a little over a month should hurt it but that's a lot of time for some mistreatment of the can, temperature wise.

yeah who knows. I had to do a double take on the can to make sure it wasn't like an amber ale or something
