I drank a lot of great beer at the Sierra Nevada 35th Anniversary event at Fools Gold here in NYC this past August.

And I would say my first craft beers were the Pale Ale in college in the mid 90s. When I had a little more money to afford nice beers instead of Rolling Rock sixers and 40 oz of Buds.

Curious how much it costs in China, in US$?

I would have to say SN is one of the true classic breweries that you can almost never go wrong with. I used to live on the west coast (Seattle area), and they along with Mac & Jacks, Stone, and Deschutes truly turned me into the beer fanatic I am today.

Had two SN beers tonight! Always a favorite. Hope to get some Night Time soon!

It's actually better than the newest 'hype' brew most of the time.
It was definitely here before that because in the '80s I was buying it fairly regularly at Baumel's Liquors in Clark, and I'm relatively certain I was drinking it on draft at the Old Bay in New Brunswick as early as 1990-91 (that's around the time Old Bay fully went "all craft" on their taps, which were curated by the late ChrisDemitri). By the mid '90s, they even had some other SN products on draft there that weren't even available in bottle (around 1994-ish, I remember enjoying SN Brown Ale on draft there).

good to see SN getting so much love here. they exemplify how a brewery can get big and stay great...great quality and variety for great prices...can't beat em.

Usually the people who do the set designd take this as an opportunity to shout out to their favorite brands. I don't think the breweries are paying for this exposure. There was actually an article about this a while back in some print that I was reading.

Dude, Sierra Nevada holds major nostalgia for me. Their Pale Ale is my go-to desert camping beer, and Celebration Ale is what hipped me to craft. They are my number one.

I guess I should have been hanging out in New Brunswick lol. It wasn't all that bad since there where a number of craft beers I could get back then but I was always asking about it.

It's a mix, some companies pay for the exposure. Radeberger for example used to pay to be Charlie's beer on Two and a half men.

About a year into drinking, after I was done with brown ales and English stuff I tried their Torpedo. I was a broke 22 year old and it had higher abv. I drank that for quite a while. It opened me up to pale ales and ipa, definitely a gateway beer for me. And I am finally getting around to drinking other SN, after recently visiting the brewery.

It's called product placement if it's being paid for and it's not uncommon in TV and movies. It also could just be the writers showing a new aspect of the roles.

Hi Bill - this past summer I was in Japan for a few weeks and found Pale Ale, Torpedo and Summerfest at a beach bar in Kamakura. Was a real great find!

Always happy to grab a SN Torpedo IPA, especially in tallboy cans. Personally also happy to see them still innovating with beers like Hop Hunter and a nice line of limited seasonal 22oz releases.

For anyone on the east coast (or elsewhere), please visit the greater Asheville area and take in the Sierra Nevada facility at Mill's River. It is truly perfect

I spend more time in the north gathering beer. That trip however, is definitely in my plans for the future.

Asheville is not big on itself, it just is. If you wish, I'll let you know some good places to stay. I live in a wonderful place, but I hate leaving Asheville down the escarpment. The place can capture you.
