talk about going balls in for a beer. I thought waking up an hour early today so i could leave work here in skokie earlier to get it was hardcore enough. But to each his own.

Per New Glarus' Facebook page, those two guys are in line again today. Too funny.

 

No way, seriously? That is fucking funny.

 

Whaaaaaat?! But they got their two bottles already!

 

Watch out if BA Providence sees this. He'll be giving a lecture about how it's not right for them to be doing it since they've already got their allotment.

 

Don't worry, I know a IL cop that's in line with them. I'll make sure they get arrested.

 

Two per day per Deb Carey. That's how they wanted to do it. I was thinking about it, we really don't see staggered beer releases a lot.

 

Anyone who keeps making the trek through rural WI deserves some reward I suppose.

I got my two bottles yesterday, and don't plan on going back this weekend. I will say that I found it interesting that even the random people yesterday (whose trip to the brewery just happened to coincide with the release) were buying the R&D. I hope they've never had a beer like that before and that it's a cool experience for them when they try it. I also hope that there is some R&D left over after the weekend for some random people who show up at the brewery on Monday, as opposed to just being gobbled up by the same few people who are willing to make the trek every day this weekend.

Jokes aside, maybe WI should have their own regional forum. The rest of the current Great Lakes region is clearly on a different page when it comes to beer release preparedness. For example:


MN: Darkness line starts at 4AM. Got in line at 10AM? Should've kept sleeping in 'cause there's no more bottles for you.

IL: Dark Lord Day attendees have tickets guaranteeing entry and bottles; hundreds still show up at 6AM.

OH: Want to leave a Jackie O's event with bottles? Line starts when the bar closes on Friday.

MI: KBS Day line formed at 7PM the night before. the first people to be shut out still showed up before dawn.

WI: "Two jerks got in line at New Glarus 3hrs before the doors opened??? No way they're from around here." And you're right; they wanted it more than you.

Got there at 10:20, no line, PLENTY of stock available.

Left after opening the 1996 Belgian Red about two hours later (pics to follow later, it tasted like a Sour Flanders) and there was still PLENTY of stock left.

Shortly after 3 pm they had about 50 bottles left...and it was packed there.
