I just had Broooklyn Intensified Coffee http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/45/184638/ and thought it was very good. Even at the high price tag I'm considering getting anothe bottler. The one off release series from Brooklyn has been very hit and miss but I fell like this was better than black ops

2 questions Randy, first is this available at your store? Second, what is the price?

Any price idea on the New Holland?

    Bullfrog does Crowlerz I know.

In tentitively depending on my work hours for Sunday and Monday, and my DDs/bus schedule. Will know more as it draws closer.

Between PNC & Heinz on the North Shore nexto the Tilted Kilt :sunglasses: If those young ladies weren't so unfortunate looking, I'd say 2birds, one stone.
I didnt like it much either. Especially not for the price. It sat on the shelves in the packy I used to work at.
    Probably still there.

Agree it was well down. I had it a few weeks back when I was in NJ. I think I paid $24.99 there.

South hills market district is infuriating. The mix six section is tiny, and never stocked. Anything new, never has a price listed. And every single time I'm in there, they always have carts filled with beer blocking the aisles. Also, never any discounts on older products. The manager of that store needs to drive to shadyside and get a clue. Rant over

I meant will it be available at the other three Rivertowne locations (Verona, Irwin, North Shore) or just the brewpub?

I feel like this is the case at most of them that aren't Robinson or Shadyside. The one at Waterworks is always well organized, but their selection is nothing special. Shaler is a mess since Randy took his talents to Shadyside.

Yes, the Breakfast IPA is on tap at both the Brewery in Export, the Pourhouse in Monroeville, and will soon be tapped at the Verona, Irwin, and North Shore locations. Also it will be available at the Four Seasons Brewery & Pub in Latrobe. There is limited distribution to some bars and eateries in the area as well, such as a tapping party at Atria's in Murrysville tomorrow at 7PM

So looking at the app right now, it gives a list of what breweries are open today & their hours. How does Google Maps do it?

It is a shame that there seems to be scant motivation to run this location better, with respect to beer. I've tried to cultivate even superficial relationship(s) with some of the workers there, but they are not interested in conversation about beer. The tall girl is just miserable.

I imagine there is only a vocal minority of customers, pushing for more attention to the South Hills GE, as stock does sit on the shelves for an extended period of time (it's sad seeing Troegs sixers--both the new and old art sitting side by side on the shelf [should someone not have thought not to do this?], as it seems to beg the question of freshness). If it sits, they must not sell enough or fast enough, so GE thinking may be: why put more resources at this location?

Had marginally better luck communicating with the manager of the Market Express in McMurray, but as a "express" location, they obviously don't have the pull that larger/more advantageously located GEs will have; though they did have Alpine on tap at least once. And at least that dude running it talks when he's engaged.

Since I'm already whining about the South Hills being bereft of attention--is there any bar/eatery (beside North Shore) not east of the city that will see this on tap?

Yep, it's terrible. As @barflybastard said the MD Express is a bit better at least with customer interaction. I asked the beer manager at South Hills yesterday whether he was getting Backwoods Bastard in and he had no clue what I was even talking about.

The New Holland was $5.99 the last time they had it in. Hell of a price.

Let me know if you can make it and i'll add you to the email thread/share spreadsheet

Search for a brewery, or any business for that matter, and it usually tells you the operating hours and whether it's open right now if you click on the marker.

Ah, right. A list of search results usually does the same thing. I wanted all the open hours in one place for easy perusing, which is what he put together. I often find myself in the situation of being free at a random time & wanting to know who's open at that moment, without having to do individual searches.

I gave up on the SH location a number of years ago. It was right around this time of the year, it was when we first started getting the Elysian pumpkin beers. I had stopped by while I was out that way and saw that they had just received a shipment of said beers in variety pack from. They had broken them up for individual sale. I think I had picked up one of each of the four. When I went to check out one of the beers had not been input into their system. The manager was called over, and I expressed my strong interest in buying this particular bottle. He then proceeded to tell me that these beers were not even supposed to be put out yet, but there were. He said since it was not in their system there was no way I could buy it, even though there it sat on display for anyone to pick up. I asked him how to go about getting this, and he took my info and said they would call once it was available. I am still waiting for that call. Hence why I rarely go to that location anymore.

On a side note I reached out to GE directly when they let the beer manager go at the Robinson MD location some years back as well. I was contacted by one of their corporate people. I told them about my dissatisfaction with them letting him go, and how service, selection etc. was suffering because he was no longer there. He told me about the new person they were bringing in and to be patient. I believe that person is the girl that runs that dept today. Obviously there didnt really care then as seen as how poorly run that location is still today.

I thought it was pretty pedestrian myself. Not much going on and very little barrel character.

It's at a few different Giant Eagles. There were a couple of bottles left at Shadyside when I left yesterday. the price was $21.99 or $24.99. I can't remember.
