    Hey all -

I have family traveling to DC, and would love to pick out something local for them to bring back for me. Preferably a 6. My sister lives down there but not sure when I'll be able to get down myself to visit her again in the near future. 4 pack of it's worth it but definitely no bombers - 6 would be ideal. They don't have much room, so probably one 6, maybe a second if it's able to keep.

Looking for recommendations on IPA/2xIPA, Stout,Barleywine.

    Thanks all!

    Hardywood Great Return IPA
    Brothers Admiral IPA
    DC Brau The Corruption IPA

These would be my recommendations for 4/6 packs. I'm struggling to think of local breweries that have stouts or barleywines that don't come in bombers.

best local IPA options in cans are DC Brau on the wings of armageddon and Union Craft (Baltimore) Double Duckpin. Duckpin is also a good option. They'd have to head to the DC Brau brewery to grab a 6er of the OTWOA. Double Duckpin will be harder to track down if any is currently available at all in the area. If you're willing to go the growler route, every IPA I've had from Ocelot has been very good.

If possible, have them go to Trader Joes or TW in Alexandria and make a mixed sixer. They both have beers from Hardywood, Port City, Lost Rhino, DC Brau, and a few other local breweries.
