I love this thread. I'm also partial to the old Spud McKenzie and Bud-weis-er frogs.

Would love to see some rusty old Fantome tackers from the 90's someone found in a bar in Belgium. :sunglasses:

Are the 90s long ago enough to rust a sign?

Prob not. I was just thinking it would add nice "rustic" vibe with a little oxidized red on the ghost.

EDIT: Would also be cool with a Brasserie Prignon sign from the 80's or something.

From the same 1949-50 San Francisco phone book...The Regal ad shows the true yellow of the real "Yellow Pages" of the day. Still debating whether to cut them out and frame them... [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Liberace would be first choice for my beer spokesperson, too. He's so manly.

I snagged this at a home goods type store. Truth be told, I have no idea if Lengrand is even a real brewery.

It is. At least, it was. It is a reproduction of a real ad for a French brewery from the '20s, according to the Brookston Beer Blog.

With Christmas less than two weeks away, here's a couple vintage ads from Schlitz that I display through the season.

I love how they advertise "6 full 12 oz cans", does that come in a 12 pack of half full beers?

:grinning: No doubt refers to the once common West Coast 11 oz. bottles and cans that were on the shelves along with 12's. Regal is noting that they cans and bottles were both "Full" twelve ouncers.

We put up our tree yesterday - the scene did not look like this. Yes,my tree decorating sports jacket was at the cleaners (and a yellow tie?), sure, but mostly because we lacked REAL Ballantine XXX Ale.
Maybe next year - if Pabst's brewmaster Greg Deuhs gets around to reworking the recipe and brings the beer back to its former glory.

I tried calling 4733, but it seems to be disconnected. I knew home delivery was too good to be true.
