Good looking out. 20 blocks is a bit of a haul, especially if the return walk is going to be of the inebriated variety.

Walk back would be far easier.

Maybe easier, but also slightly more dangerous.

I have made that walk a number of times. Not a bad walk at all.

    Another session ale from Steve:

Earl Grey Pale Ale w/Brett: Our Earl Grey Pale Ale went through secondary fermentation with brettanomyces. The earthy/cherry notes from the Brett along with the tea/bergamot from the Earl Grey makes for a complex pour.

ABV:5.3 ( 12oz pours only, no growler fills)

Actually sounds kinda tasty...wish they weren't so out of my way anymore... :slight_frown:

If you are looking for fresh Fat Heads, I'd go to the brewery. South Hills GE only has Head Hunter from 8/20, and I'm not sure if they have Hop Stalker left. There's a chance there may be a four pack or two around, but they didn't have too many left when I was in. Just be warned, South Hills GE is pretty much the worst one around.

Who's Steve? Why are you dropping these insider names?

    And "session ale"? At 5.3%?

    Just because he's kind of a dick doesn't mean he's wrong. 5.3%>sessionable

Oh I was kidding, but I'll totally bite.

Agree, 5 percent is not a session ale. However, his strict adherence (is it 4, I won't bother going to his site) is wrong. I'd rather subscribe to Lew Bryson at 4.5 but definitely would consider it up to 5 %.

Nate, next time I see you lets have a beer and discuss. I find this weird classification only apply to sessions.

I consider 5 or less a session beer but I'm bigger than your average bear so I could understand going lower than that.

That's a really good deal. 4 pints of beer for about $14 or so. Are they hurting for business? I get the vibe that Hop Farm is kind of an afterthought here, as it's very rare that I see them mentioned.

They are an afterthought here indeed...but not to the general beer consuming public.

I'd say that they aren't doing as well as they want to be considering they are on DVE.

That's surprising to me, as the few times I've been there I never saw more than a handful of people there at a time.
