I know Yards Brewery does this and I'm wondering if any others in PA or NJ do also?
    Thanks!

Not sure what you are stating here but Yards has a brewpub license in addition to their manufacturers license.

I think I now see what you were trying to ask. Renting out space at a brewery for an event where you can have your own catering. Not quite sure who else does that but maybe you'll get some responses after clarification.

Maybe look into Angry Erik in Lafayette NJ...small but it's bring your own food. Not sure of the space rental thing though.

Hmm judging by the fact that you are from New Jersey..these may be a little far west of Philly of what you are looking for..

Sly Fox I will say MIGHT. They are very customer friendly, so even if they do not "officially" do it...you never know if you ask! If not, the distillery across the parking lot, Manatawny Still Works, has an AWESOME indoor space and lets you bring your own food and beer if you'd like even.

    - Hidden River Brewing @ Historic Brinton Lodge might be a good choice!

A lot of NJ Breweries may be willing to do this if you make it worth their while. It depends on the size of the group you would be bringing and how much you would be willing to pay.

I know for a fact that Flying Fish will allow you to open their brewery on an off night, if you can guarantee enough attendees, but they don't allow full catering (just snacks and apps kinda thing).

I was in Beach Haus over the summer and there was a party setting up in the tasting room.

Why did I think that there were strict rules about breweries and food in NJ (BYO, food trucks, etc). I thought this was part of the bill that allowed the breweries to start selling pints. Maybe I've just heard false information but I remember being told something about a lot of bar/restaurant lobbyists making sure to limit the access of food at breweries if it was going to pass so I'm always surprised when I see places allowing food and the ABC not doing anything about it.

They're definitely not allowed to have food trucks or live music. I'm not sure if there's language in the bill that prevents bringing it in (but I'm not positive).
I do think there is language in the NJ Brewers Guild charter that prohibits it. I think some of the brewers feel strongly about keeping the brewery experience a Tasting Room and not a Tap Room, hence this provision.
I also think a part of it is that, since they were given the go ahead with the bill passing, they want to show that they are not trying to step on the toes of local bars and restaurants with liquor licenses.

Thanks for the info and clarification! I know it says that outside food has be be brought in by the customer so does that mean that you can't have food delivered?

we'd like to serve food but the current rules prohibit it. when those rules change we look forward to things like this, till then write your senators. better laws better beer culture.

Seems like that's a bit of a gray area, but I haven't been in an NJ brewery that'll break out the take out menus for you like I've had happen in other states. Anyone else know otherwise?

For all of the people complaining about PA's laws, looks like New Jersey's suck more.

It's funny, because PA's recent rule change that allowed breweries (without brewpub licenses) to sell full pints, but is the exact opposite. It requires that at least minimal food be sold.
