Why is Midnight Sun M on the top 100 list? Gabe is long gone.

Probably someone asked for it to be un-retired based on the recent rumors that it will be rebrewed. And the recipe for it has been publicly posted, so the fact that the brewer is gone is pretty much irrelevant. And even if it weren't, Midnight Sun still owns the rights to the name and can make a beer called "M" whenever the fuck the please, regardless of what the beer actually is.

Well look at that, King Henry is ranked better.

Where is the recipe publicly posted? I just kegged a clone and would love to see this. 3 months of planning and I couldn't find any info other than talking to Gabe about a recipe.

Because that is the list of top 100 beers in the BA database, regardless of whether they are still available or still being brewed.

Hope that is wrong and maybe someone knows something, a new batch would be as close as I am likely to get to trying it.

The list is what it is.

But maybe if we get a good rumor started that they are going to brew M again somebody who actually can decide to do so will do so...

It would be fun to watch another ebay-type feeding frenzy develop in the trading forums.

Looking back I misunderstood, I thought that this was posted by someone affiliated with the brewery.

Mark Staples, the owner of Midnight Sun, said they were making it again in a print magazine (Celebrator).

Aw. I was hoping some legitimate info got out.

My "clone" is tasting amazing. I wound up overshooting OG and changed the game. Sitting at around 16.25% ABV by rough calculation and it was put into a brandy cask in place of bourbon. If someone wants to send me an M, I'll compare

Your title/post has been adjusted as it was vague. Posted in the wrong forum too, so I've moved it.

I've also re-retired "M" for now. While Midnight Sun might plan on brewing it again ... it's not out yet. We'll adjust the listing, or create a new one, based on its release.

    Thanks.
