I've been let down by Prairie so many times (especially at their price point) I was glad when I found out they were not distributed to Pennsylvania. Love Bomb! but not at $8 for a 12oz bottle; and that is Texas prices, couldn't imagine what it would be in Pennsylvania.

I would say 10.99 at ge 12.99 anywhere else. I don't get them a lot bc of price I do like bomb and AB noir.

Why would Shelton Brothers have anything to do with it? If it's a shitty product or not ready to be consumed yet, that's on the brewer for selling it to them for distribution.

Well hypothetically Shelton could demand more product for sale or give them incentives to pump more product out and the producer could either make short cuts, not age as long, or not as much QC and release infected product IE: Prairie. All hypothetical of course .

No bottles, but GE Market Express McMurray has Hoppy Birthday on tap ($8/18). If anyone wants to meet a drink a growler on site, hit me up. Realize it's not Nelson, but $9 for a half growler sounds tasty.

All I know is that funky gold mosaic was one of the worst beers I've ever had. It smelled like pee

I really enjoyed Funky Gold Amarillo and Eliza5beth. I'm done trying their stouts, though. Have had several and borderline hated all of them, including Bomb!

Just a heads up if anyone is still interested, Voodoo Homestead is pouring Caution right now and they have about 90ish bottles available as well.

FWIW, I never had batch 1 ADWTD, but had batch 2 twice and I really enjoyed it both times. I actually look at trade offers from time to time and considered getting another bottle. The last bottle I opened was with a bunch of BAs and I thought everyone rated it highly on Untapd.

I really enjoyed Mad Mex Dos Decados today (and I do every year). Really fresh and deliscious.

Do you know about the whole gray market/out of distributor scene here in Pgh?

Not sure exactly to what you're refering. So I guess "no". But I have picked up on the fact thst there are breweries that are legally cleared for distrobution in PA, or this area, etc. that just dont happen here on a regular basis. Maybe thats one of those instances? Either way, its pretty crumby. Jacks Abby makes dope lagers. Really missing them down here. :*(

A number of bars/bottles hops have a license that lets them drive to Philly (which has probably the largest number of brands distributed to them in the country), pick up stuff, bring it back here & sell it. The recent pic if all the Russian River stuff at Caliente is an example of this practice. It inflates the price pretty drastically, & also means that those brands are only seen around here sporadically. This was the case with the Jack's Abby stuff, which from what I could tell didn't move real quickly, which is why we haven't seen much of it since.

This is what I take for grey: beers legally okay for the state, but not for the area--though you find it on the shelves locally (Russian River, etc.). Would consider "black market" something present that is not distributed in the state legally--like if you saw Heady or New Glarus here.
