Just curious how often Iris, Saint Lam, and Vigneronne are swapped

Often, but you're not going to pull rare/limited items with them as they're available for mail order..

I'd give "limited" items for them. I'll give vintage BCBS, Vintage Abyss, BBBW, BB4D, Gilgamesh, BA Blackout, BA Naked Evil, and probably many more I have that I can't think of right now.

Have you seen the cost of an average order online for loons?

I know a lot of people that would rather trade over $4$ easily to avoid putting together an order where the shipping would make sense online.

I've built my whole cellar trading 'loons to Americans. In terms of desirability I'd rank them like this:

    Fou Foune > LP Framboise/Gueuze > Lamvinus > Vigneronne > Iris

Truly they are all amazing beers.

You'd be surprised. Many people just want to try a bottle, not place a $300 order for a box full. No, you're not going to get Ann with a Vigneronne, but the more limited Cantillons can pull just about anything that has ever made it into distribution, and plenty of brewery releases too.

I have trouble trading them. They are consumed too quickly .

That doesn't mean they won't pull anything limited. I know for a fact Cantillon trades for Beatification (I traded an LP Gueuze for 2x Beat).

I desire Loons very much. That being said....No bites on $4$ with my Loons for KR Citra.

Some Cantillons trade higher than others, but they are all a real pain in the ass to get in the US. The cost of shipping make it pretty expensive to order online or trade international.

People who have them aren't going to be trading them away for locals or shelf stock, so they trade for limited stuff, but nothing too crazy. Well except Fou Foune and Mamouche.

I kind of thought "loons" were the one offs or rare stuff. Then the regular ones were cantillon.

It's a joke that kept spiraling out of control, and now does just seem to be used as shorthand for Cantillon. I believe the original post was an ISO by some noob for "Rare Cantiloons".

I've both traded and traded for a number of 'Loons recently. Here are some of the trades I did:

Got 1 '08 LP Framboise (plus some locals) for Bruery Filmishmish and Oui Oui
Got 1 '08 LP Kriek for Bruery Melange #3
Traded 1 '09 LP Gueuze for Midnight Sun Oak-Aged TREAT and Moscow (it wasn't exactly that, part of a larger trade)
Traded 1 '09 LP Gueuze (last fall, when LP Gueuze hadn't come to the states for a couple of years) for Hill Farmstead Civil Disobedience 3 and Birth of Tragedy
Traded 1 '08 Fou' Foune for Alesmith BA Speedway Stout

Out of curiosity, where would you rank Cuvee St. Gilloise?

I think I've only traded 1 bottle of this so far. Not sure why, its an awesome Gueuze, quite different from their classic or Lou Pepe.

    I'd happily trade a T25 for an '04 Lamvinus.
