We should probably start lining up on Wednesday https://youtu.be/JqzReBvMYhw HopCat Detroit and Dark Horse Brewing Co. announce Dark Saturday World Record Tap Takeover 130 different Dark Horse beers will be on tap Nov. 28 at special event For Immediate release DETROIT, Mich., October 24, 2015 – HopCat and Dark Horse Brewing Co., of Marshall, Mich., will make Detroit the center of the beer universe on Nov. 28. Today at Detroit Fall Beer Festival, the two announced plans for Dark Saturday, a World Record Tap Takeover featuring 130 different varieties of Dark Horse beer. The all-day event will break a record set at HopCat Detroit’s grand opening in which 120 different varieties of beer from Short’s Brewing Co., of Bellaire, Mich., were served. “Dark Saturday is our answer to Black Friday,” said Mark Sellers, founder of HopCat. “We worked with Dark Horse to design an event that brings people together to celebrate great beer, hear some great music, and get people in a festive mood for the holidays.” The tap takeover begins at 11 a.m.with 130 varieties of beer brewed by Dark Horse founder Aaron Morse and the rest of the Dark Horse brewing team. Distributor Rave Associates is providing logistical support that helps make the event possible. Dark Saturday will include a special one-day renaming of HopCat Detroit’s Huma Room into the Crooked Tree Room, which will feature 30 varieties of Dark Horse’s Crooked Tree IPA. Live music in the Crooked Tree Room will begin at 7 p.m. to help close out the day. “Putting 130 Dark Horse beers on tap in one day is a monumental undertaking that has required months of planning by the HopCat, Dark Horse and Rave teams,” said Garry Boyd, HopCat Ringleader and VP of food and beverage. “Setting another world record will make Detroit the center of the beer universe on Nov. 28 and help remind the world that Michigan craft breweries are some of the best and most innovative in the nation.” Follow Dark Horse and HopCat on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and the hashtag #darksaturday
This is surprising to me. I wouldnt pick darkhorse as the brewery to churn out that many beers for a take over. In my mind darkhorse has always been the brewery that does a few handfuls of well done beers and that's it. I can't see them getting creative enough to do that many..
Not sure why Rave gets so many plugs in this article...they are a middle mam due to the unfortunate legislature in Michigan and that is all.
Consider the logistics of collecting the beers from the brewery when the beers are finished, storage, trucking the kegs to MidTown, unloading and getting the keg and taps matched up so the correct beer flows out. There would enough paperwork involved to give me a headache. The press release says Detroit, so it looks like HopCat want to include Rave in the PR.

Cool that they named a couple after Black Sabbath songs. Their heads are in the right space. Wish I could have gone to this one.
Went Sunday and had some half pours - some standouts were: West Coast Crooked Tree Mosaic Crooked Tree Until the Next Time Ghost of Puca The mint stout was the most mint forward beer I've ever had, or probably ever will have - should have been sponsored by Scope. Furry Tusk was pretty good, but not very saisonesque.. Lemon Viola was meh and the other west coast IPA was really bad... Should probably still have a bunch on tap I would assume, although about 30 of them were on handpump.
