Yea, humans and illicit substances are generally better for the blackmarket anyway.

They're not illegal for the area, technically, though it's debatable whether they're here through a loophole.

The example of New Glarus is illegal for the area/state, so I consider is black market. The others we were talking about aren't, so I personally consider them grey. I think we agree on this, but your post leaves me ambivalent.

Sorry, I was a little vague (making dinner, had to bang out a fast reply). I think you & I were in another thread discussing this. I consider "gray market" something that's technically legal, but not intended, which would make Russian River, Cigar City, Firestone Walker, et al. gray market for Pittsburgh. They're "legally okay" for the area, but only by circumventing the PA distribution system through a kind of loophole. It's legal to sell those brands here, if they were obtained through specific channels, though the breweries didn't intend for it. Black market is, obviously, illegal, such as New Glarus.

Tonight, I met @shuggy, @jeevo, and his fiancee for a small sour share at Kickback. Here was the damage:

Highlights for me were the Fou Foune, Saison du Ble, and the Highway Manor Compton Chronic (unlabeled...an upstart in Harrisburg). Disappointments were the West Ashley (just missing something in the body, not bad but definitely very, very thin and watery) and the New Glarus Enigma (a metallic mess).

Agree on Enigma. I drain poured like half of it I think.

Sounds like that was a real cluster fuck. I've never had Bo and Luke. Is it really worth all that?

I actually enjoyed it. Nowhere near worth the price, but I liked the fresh natural pepper taste I got beyond the heat. Surprised they made it again though. Was pretty sure I was the only one who liked it.

Bo and Luke is a delicious beer. Never had any of the variants, but the "base" is fantastic.

    (@Preluderl - you wouldn't enjoy it, it's a smoked beer)

Say what you will about Voodoo's 3rd Barrel Room Release but it was smooth as silk and they were upfront about the beers they were releasing.

Also makes me very appreciative of east end and their 5 registers they had for the gratitude release.

Thought both EE and Voodoo did really well that day. I was in and out of Voodoo in less than 5 minutes.
