Jackie O's (2018)

I had it last year at the tap room. I didn't think the base beer was strong enough to carry the barrel qualities. Very bourbon forward (from a bourbon drinker). I usually don't care for aged pumpkin ales, but woukd like to try this one again 6 months or so down the road.

 

Jackie O's is taking over the taps at our Crosswoods Winking Lizard location.

On the Barking Pumpkin: Had some on tap when I was there last Tuesday. Picked up a couple of bottles. It was very good right now, but what really struck me was how this showed such great cellar potential. I think this beer will be a thing of pure beauty with 1-3 years of age on it.

 

I know this may have been discussed, but any word on BA barking pumpkin going into distro?

Just passing by to post some appreciation for regular Dark Apparition. It has become my favorite RIS and a permanent resident in my fridge since I moved here. Fantastic beer, keep them coming, Brad et al. !

Can't wait for 2016 Champion Ground since I missed this years release. I'd like to try some; I'd be willing to part with a few BBBM bottles if anyone is interested.

I Love what Jackie O's is doing with their barrels; keep it up fellas.

 

Is Spirit Beast the next 375? Has there been any sort of announcement of when to expect it?

 

I have no idea but I'd expect it at the Anniversary.

 

How was the event? Are there any notables still pouring at this location? Thanks!

 

I went around dinner time & the only thing that had kicked was Champion Ground. It was a nice little event with a lot of the Athens crew there for it. No idea if they kept anything on past that day or just went back to their regularly scheduled taps.

Still waiting on label art work, the blend has grown and yield has been increased slightly. Looking more like a December release.

 

Any updates on the Anniversary party this year? We are making the trip and booking our hotel right now.

Actually on Monday, I know they still had at least BA Brick Kiln, BA Dark Apparition, Sweet Chocolate Love, Baltic Merman, Wood Ya Honey, Forescythe, Apt 223, regular Dark Appariton, BA Barking Pumpkin, Providence Saison, and Oil of Aphrodite which is a very good list without the great whales gone like Champion Ground, Black Maple, and Oro Negro.

 

The cognac dark app sounds amazing. Sounds like the party is going to get crashed by hoarders and mules now
