Re: the situation at ATG - I could handle most of the issues (time, one register, undisclosed variants) but the line merging from two to one would have really pissed me off.

Was the same weekend as our baby shower and I had a ton of family in town. Wasn't able to hang out, unfortunately. It was a miracle I was able to get out that day at all.

I'm pretty patient but the lines merging and them not releasing info on the varients would be enough for me to say fuck it. That just sounds like such a nightmare and so much hassle over essentially nothing.

As much as I loved hanging out over night outside in the cold release 1 and 2, release 3 was amazing. Easy quick sign up. Then bottle share at home the night before, slept in my own bed, got up, relaxed refreshed hung out at the pub and enjoyed all the beers on tap. Amazing day

It was the best run release I've been to (not saying much but still). It was as smooth as it could possibly be, separate lines for drafts and bottles, no payments to be processed, no clusterfuck. Just an impeccably well run release.

They didn't, but EE and Voodoo have significantly more practice so I'm willing to give DL a pass on The Plague release. I didn't think they did horribly, they just have such limited space to work with and the crowd was a little nuts. Their biggest mistake for me was not making it clear how you were supposed to get your bottles. I had no idea when I got there, there were no signs or instructions and by the time I found out, it was too late.

Agreed. They clogged up two areas with massive confusion and I know that there were some people who were standing in the drink line thinking that they could still get bottles. They should have indicated beforehand that they were going to sell tickets right when they opened. A lot of us were under the impression that bottles weren't on sale until 7, when they were clearly on sale at 5.

But hey, they will work out the kinks for the next go around.

Damn. Well Shadyside MD still hasn't gotten theirs and Randy doesn't seem to think it is going to blow off the shelves so I have that going for me.

Did VE sell them in 4pks or just Single Bottles?

Yep. I waited all the way through the line to the bar once just to get a beer, then I found out you had to get a ticket from the bar. By the time I waited through the line again, they were gone.

I never understand how common sense doesn't take over in a situation like that. How did no one on their end think "hey, it might be a good idea to put up a sign or something".

They could have at least moved some tables. Maybe that guy wouldnt have a grease-stained oxford now. He should seek damages. In the form of beers.

I felt like they should have shifted their service for the release as well. They were still trying to have servers attend to the outdoor customers while the line piled up at the bar. I think they should have shifted to bar only service (like they do at Voodoo Homestead). They could have kept up with the line seeing that they were fully staffed and made it less congested without servers constantly cutting through the crowd.

I went to their new tap room/restaurant the other day. It has interior windows looking into what I assume will be the new production area. It was in the very early stages of being set up, so whatever increase in capacity they are planning hasn't happened yet. Maybe there is still hope for Western PA after they get the new space up and running.

If we ever got babymaker/bridemaker here on a regular basis, I'd stop ticking
