Funny, I never thought of $11 for a 4-pack to be cheap!

Well, considering that I paid $6.50 and change for two cans to go at the Bier Stein a little over a week ago, $11 for a 4 pack looked like a helluva deal.

Also, I got the 4 pack at GG PDX, where I tend to look at the world from a growler perspective. A 4 pack of Ft. George FH IPA is essentially a growler fill, and at least to me, $11 for a growler fill of good FH IPA is a very fair price. There were some interesting selections on the draft board (there always is), but in the end, I just couldn't say no to a "growler size" four pack of FH IPA for $11.

$11/4pk isn't necessarily the steal of the century, but it's inline with Ft. George's other 4pks and well worth the price IMO. Sub-$3 pints of fresh hop IPA delivered to my local store seems very fair.

I sort of feel bad now, but we received 20 more cases today in case anyone on this side of town is looking for more.

@guajolote - if you're going to be in town at some point in the next few days and still want some just let me know. We don't typically do holds on stuff, but I can buy a couple 4pks for you and you can just pay me back or whatever.

Awesome of you to offer, @maltmaster420, but the aforementioned friend from Bend is coming over the pass tonight and bringing several 4 packs with her, so I'm good. And luckily I was able to nab two 4 packs from the scant four cases that made it to Salem (but those are gone now, obvs). I very much appreciate the offer though.

The Maletis rep for Salem is officially on my shit list. I guess I need to make a shit list...

Of course that likely won't help with the larger problem... you know, the one that involves you having to continue living in Salem. :-)

The Lamb's Thriftway out here in Garden Home got a bit so I don't think it was all that scarce.

It's very likely that it sold out quickly in a lot of places!

The 4-pack I just got @ Whole Paycheck was canned on 9/30...6 days before the two I bought on the 9th of this month @ Freddie's. The couple of cans I had within the 1st week of canning were wonderfully fragrant. Honestly not really bothered by the drop-off, as it is a delicious recipe. I find this to be more important than a snoot full of freshies, overall. Really why I think Breakside's move to flash-freeze their lot made an enormous difference, overall. None more apparent than the glorious unfiltered Simcoe.

Like this Interurban before me, the new 4-pack will certainly be not as good as it once was...but good, nonetheless.

They ordered it, but I guess Maletis deemed them unworthy.

Anyone heard when Born Yesterday hits the PNW?

It was supposed to hit the Portland warehouse today, so it should start trickling out to stores in the next day or two.

Why, exactly? Is it because of their consistently excellent taste and unmatched value? Born Yesterday, with all due respect to Cowiche and all the NW fresh hop beers I've yet to try, was the best fresh hop brew I had last year. I expect the same to be true this year, whenever it reaches Seattle in the coming days. Just because they are large-ish for a craft brewery, and have made a deal with Heineken, does not necessarily mean they are substandard.

While it was not this particular beer, the Fusion FH I had at the Lagunitas Brewery in September was EASILY the worst fresh hop beer I had in 2015. God awful.

The Heineken thing went down as probably the least surprising news event of the year. If you're not familiar with the PR record of Mr. Magee, you could probably lose a day of your life sifting through all the ridiculous shit he has said. Also, their marketing and shtick is beyond terrible.

My desert island beer would be Lagunitas Sucks.

Back to your regularly scheduled program...
