Ya pretty disappointed that 6 of the 12 beers are the Regular top 2 sellers. They could've put celebration instead of one of those.

I passed on this last year but picked up a 12er this afternoon of this year's release. Not a fan of the White IPA but all I gotta say about the Coffee Stout is WOW! Great beer.

I may pass on this one. Snow Wit is just okay to me and Torpedo and PA I can get anytime and a little burned out on both at this point.

Was excited to pick up a case of this last night and immediately realized that they did away with Boomerang and brought back Snow Wit. I was okay with that. Drank a Torpedo and a Pale while chatting with a friend. This morning as I put a 12 pk in the cellar it finally hit me. "They removed the Porter!" Bummed out.

This mix pack would be infinitely better if they simply replaced Torpedo with something more "winter".

Yeah, come on SN, are you trying to be Sam Adams with your sub par mix? You're better than that and you know it. Don't get me wrong, I love Torpedo and PA, but I'd rather drink them in the summer. Winter is for stouts and porters. That delicious coffee stout deserves its own 6er.

I'm really bummed that they replaced the Boomerang IPA with a white IPA this year. Boomerang was one of my favorite IPA's made last year. With that change, I'm unlikely to buy this mixed pack this year.

I can't see buying a Winter variety pack with 9/12 IPAs. Winter is not IPA season for me. I could have handled 1 IPA. I think I bought 3 last year, but sadly, I will not grab one this year.

As much as I love Torpedo this SNOW PACK is inferior to last years. No Porter, No new beer, :slight_frown:

Anyone else notice how there Coffee Stout label is identical to Blindfolds but black background instead of green?

The lack of Porter is lamentable.

While I'd like a more exciting mix pack as well, we all have to keep in mind that they're trying to balance appealing to us (a small percentage of the craft drinkers out there) and the mass market / supermarket discount buyers (not that there is anything wrong with that). If they made it a true winter mix pack that included 4 beers like coffee stout, porter, a spiced holiday ale (or something), and celebration, they'd miss out on a lot of sales from people who recognize and are comfortable buying SNPA as they might not purchase the mix pack if SNPA is not included

I really wanted to try their Porter, and I really don't feel like the TEIPA fits in this pack...Oh well... I guess I'll be getting the Sam Adams Winter Classics. If I see SNSP, maybe I'll buy it, but I won't be looking for it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Last years Snow Pack was awesome. I bought like 6 of em! Swapping the Porter out was a downer.

I understand what you are saying but to me it still makes more sense to add the Porter (or even the Stout, would be neat to expose newbies to a Coffee and a regular Stout) vs. Torpedo; Torpedo is year round and yes so are the Porter and Stout however, those two are more winter beers, could definitely use the exposure and I don't see them nearly as often as I used to.

Maybe counting isn't your strong point, but I only count 6/12 IPA's Their pale ale is, well a pale ale. But for what it's worth, I agree with you, replacing torpedo with their Porter, or maybe a brown or something would have been better

Havent seen yet in the NJ stores I frequent..usually if the Super Buy Rite doesn't have it, probably a good chance Northern NJ doesn't have it yet..No SN Celebration yet either..

I agree with @ESHBG. I actually always thought the opposite in terms of including flagships in mix packs. SNPA isn't included because this will entice those who are familiar with it to purchase the mix pack. I alwasy felt company's included the flagship because people tend to buy mix packs for groups/parties. And maybe they'll gain another fan of their flagship who otherwise drinks something like BMC regularly.

I do like the fact flagships are in mix packs though, because I don't regularly purchase them and it reminds me how much I love a company's flagship beer like a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. While the same could be said about Torpedo, having TWO beers from your year-round line-up (especially your two best selling beers) is a bit of overkill in my opinion.

I said this before in the thread, but ANY style even remotely "Winter-ish" replacing Torpedo would make this mix pack exponentially better in my opinion. A spiced ale, weizenbock, doppelbock, porter, barleywine, Celebration Ale, a quad...etc.
