Are you the leader on the next round? I'm still not sure what we are waiting for. If people need a few weeks to get beer/money together, why don't we start formulating the targets and requirements and just set the date out there a bit?
That's true. I'm leaning more towards a single box / swag match up. If we do a 12 days or something I'll have to sit out due to being away for the holidays, Id like to do a bif box again before years end.
I guess in the long run, I don't have any preference, except whatever we put together, I'd hope that it's not meant to be a big box since the holidays are coming up and all.
I don't want to step on @LehighAce06 's toes, but the more I think about it, the more I like the "Swag" round. Make keep the box intentionally small - 6 beers from a minimum of 2-3 different LOCAL (100-miles?) breweries, with matching swag from 2-3 different breweries. Shirts/hats/glassware/etc... We can have participants specify personal taste, shirt size, preferences, whatever they want. It would be like an extra present for Christmas morning - or for the start of 2016 if you'd rather.
Been lurking have we?? There's already 12dos and 12dox and now 6doh regardless I want in on the next round
tl;dr: I'm leading Round 2. Signups coming this week. There will be a swag requirement. It will not be a "12 Days" format. I'm still planning on running the next round, and was actually planning on starting sign-ups this week. What we were waiting for was just for a nonspecific amount of time to pass in between rounds because a number of people expressed interest in giving it a few weeks in between. We've also had two travelling boxes get under way in that time, which means 4 or 5 people already have sent out a second box, besides all the LIFs that have been done. We've by no means been stagnant since Round 1 finished. I actually like the swag box idea too, especially the "proper glassware" component. With that said, I'm not sure how many people need 2 or 3 more glasses at once, so I'll put some thought into how to structure it, and feel free to BM me to bounce some ideas, but suffice to say there will DEFINITELY be a required swag component in round 2. I also agree with you that "Days of" might not be the right format for the BIF's round 2, I think that the pressure of a higher-end box and making every single bottle count is a little counter to the premise of this BIF (at least at the point) which is to welcome new people to the world of BIF, in a simple, stress-free way. That's not to say that future rounds can't focus more on quality, but there's already been a few people asking to join in for round 2 that are themselves newbies. I wouldn't want them to feel intimidated by their first foray any more than I wanted that for the Round 1 participants.
After I get home from work I'll have to count through my board game collection to make sure I know the right answer, but suffice it to say there were some VERY close guesses. The winner may be decided by a matter of single numbers.
All I know is that if Elkevjoe wins AGAIN, we should all coordinate the biggest porch bombing know to BA so his wife bans him from any more LIF's going forward. Just sayin......
Haha, just accepted her friend request. I generally ignore UnTappd requests that aren't friends or don't match their BA name, so I didn't put 2+2 together. Probably been sitting there for a month unanswered, sorry Renee! Speaking of unanswered requests, I've got like 3 others just sitting there that I haven't bothered declining yet. Cleverthings / WeCheersToBeers / koncept_0 - any of you one of them? If you're looking for me, my BA name matches...
So after looking through my boardgamegeek collection, as well as counting up all the games physically I arrived at exactly the same number both times (yay math!). Now I realize looking back that I never specified that Price is Right was in effect so I'm going to go with merely the closest guess (only 1 off from the right total). The Winner: @Steban!!!!!! Send me a message with your shipping info and I'll have a box in the mail for you soon.
