I would be in as well if things don't get too out of hand at the party! First time up for this, does this usually happen in a common area?

    Party was a great success. Highlights were the Bravo in 30 year Evan Williams barrels, the XIX of course, PNC,, and the food! Smoked ribs, chicken mole taco salad in mini tostadas, cupcakes made with XIX and Stickee Monkee buttercream. Was also a pleasure to meet @mhksuccess too! Here's the list of the pours in no particular order;

    XIX, XVIII, XVII, XVI
    PNC
    Tequila Merkin
    Bravo 30 Year
    Imperial Smoked Walker's Reserve Porter
    Helldorado '13-15
    DDBA '12-14
    Krieky Bones
    Walker's Cuvee
    Hydra Cuvee
    Maltose Falcons
Luponic Distortion (XPA that will be packaged next year according to Jeffers)
Crimson Peak (pale ale with hibiscus)

That was a fantastic party. So many great beers and plenty of food too. Think i ate my body weight in ribs and those tortilla cups!

I thought PNC was a atandout once it warmed up (went there first and it was too cold but 2nd and 3rd pours were amazing) and always have a soft spot for DDBA. 2013 was possibly my favorite of the day.

Anyone doing anything at the Marriott tonight? Got a couple bottles from VA with me and don't have room in my shipper so looking to see if anyone is down for a share tonight.

I think i might try to make it out for the Invitational next year. This was so much fun!

Bravo 30 years was the hit for me.. PNC as well. Always enjoy DDBA too! Always neat to see David Walker at the FW events. Very gracious, shakes hands, says thank you for coming & stood as my wife took like a dozen pictures of us.

FW always puts on great events. Met a ton of cool people, I was the bottle of Samuel L Jackson's Good Mother Fucking beer. Can't wait for the invitational!

Bravo 30 year was my favorite, hands down. I didn't like PNC, I could taste the tequila too much. My wife and friends loved it. I was surprised with the food, much better than I expected and there was plenty of food. . I had Krieky bones my first time, what a nice surprise.
I hope no one lost their tickets or forgot to pickup their anniversary beers, would be a tragedy!

This thread seems as good as any to ask this - I'm drinking a Sucaba right now and it occurred to me that it has never been used in an Anniversary blend….what's up with that? Seems like a great candidate right?…..there's gotta be a good reason for that. I'm open to answers or speculations.

10th anniversary had Abacus (which is the same thing by another name), but it is true that none since then have had it. Maybe it's just too distinctive?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Sucaba itself is a blend.

Damn, I've been a big fan of Abacus/Sucaba ever since it came out and have never heard that, though that certainly would explain it…I'll have to ask about it when I stop by FW on the way up north for Thanksgiving next week.

Sucaba is a blend? Of what?

    Google...

Interestingly, Firestone Walker’s Matt Brynildson reveals something about Sucaba that has been a bit of a secret. It is actually a blend of two beers. The base beer indeed Sucaba, but a second strong beer, a 10% beer, is blended to give the final concoction the chocolate-y, dark cherry notes.
