Was one of the first few folks in at just after 11 am this morning. Agreed with other comments - very nice space, beautiful bar and friendly staff. Had a Day Tripper and then a cask Midnight Ryder. Both were very good but I favored the Day Tripper (bought two bottles and will be cracking one to enjoy on the back deck within the hour) which sounds like it came out a bit drier and hoppier than expected...which I am extremely happy out :grinning:.

I too heard a young gentleman ask for what their "lightest beer" was (assumed he was looking for Mich Golden or something along those sad lines...). Bartenders were very helpful (given the limited choices) and poured him the Day Tripper...I left shortly thereafter but I wondered if he even finished it as it was probably way out of his palate realm. I was going to suggest Jimmy's or some other NE establishment that would easily cater to his drink of choice.

Another stellar brewing establishment to add to the Mpls scene - Congrats to the Indeed folks.

Baby steps. That you have a (probable) macro drinker at least willing to *try* something new is a good sign.

There is nothing wrong with liking lighter style beers. Perhaps, this young gentleman really knew his beer, and wanted to try everything Indeed has to offer starting with their lightest beer. Perhaps, he has tried the lighter offerings at other area breweries (i.e. Town Hall's Dortmunder), and knows that is kind of beer he likes. Perhaps, he was dragged there by a craft beer loving friend, and was actually looking for something like a Mich Golden as you stated......You are probably right.

However, my point is there are some very legitimate reasons why someone who knows craft beer well would ask the bartender at a brewery that just opened what their lightest beer is.

Haha, I had to serve that guy. I also had a lady ask me for 2 tall ciders on opening day.

The Twin Cities craft beer scene has been exploding ever since I left, and I'm not there to witness it :slight_frown:

.....Time to the pilgrimage to the motherland!

But if this person was there, he most likely knew what the brewery had to offer. But for the sake of argument, let's say he was unfamiliar with Indeed's offering but was familiar with craft beer. The names of the offerings themselves would tell him how light/dark they were, so logic would dictate the presumption of light macro drinker. In any case, I hope he liked what he was served and will attempt to drink more or continue his quest for beer knowledge!

I am excited for this place. Will be stopping by Saturday to sample beer and maybe pick up a few 750's.

Indeed's two beer are named Day Tripper, and Midnight Ryder neither of which offer any sort of information about their style. I can still understand why someone why knows craft beer would have to ask which of these beer is the lighter of the two. That said odds are the person in this scenario was looking for something resembling a macro lager type beer, and I agree with you in that I hope they liked what they were served.

hopefully people were patient with him, it is cool that someone who maybe doesn't know much about craft beer is checking out a new brewery, if they are even remotely adventurous they might pursue more craft beer over time hopefully.

Had a 750 of Day Tripper last night. Cooler than the tap, still plenty hoppy. It was an Aug 2 batch. Might be the first time I preferred a bottle over a tap.

Anyone else try the Midnight Tripper yet?

Friend of mine thought the Day Tripper was just a bit too bitter and the Midnight Ryder could use some more hop flavor...so he asked for a half and half. It was quite good, I must say.

I have already killed 3 bottles of DT (need more), and 2 of the MR. Really happy these guys are within a mile of me

Both beers are exactly what I hoped for and more. Where was the Honey Wheat Shenanigans beer? Thats the first beer they brewed I thought.

Yeah, I'm addicted to DT already. Made a vinaigrette dressing last night with a healthy dose of bottled DT and it was great.

I agree, the Midnight Ryder needs more hop presence or ore malt presence, it's balanced but lacks something to make it great.

We've been mapping all of the current breweries and brewpubs on MNBeer.com. We've held out on all of the upcoming breweries until they launch.

Stopped by the brewery to pick up a couple bottles of day tripper. The tap room is amazing. What a great vibe they have going. Day tripper was a nice pale ale. I can't wait to see how this brewery progresses in the near future. Everything is in their favor. Great start. I'm really happy for them.
