Does anyone remember "Taco Loco" in the south side? They were a funky nomadic Mexican restaurant...every time I went to seek them out they were in a different location. And I think they originally got their start sharing a space with a donut shop on Carson? They had some seriously good Mexican food...I miss that place.

    Seriously? No hopslam bottles? Wow...why?

EDIT: I see they are doing cans. That's tremendous news!

Remember that place. Didn't they have t-shirt printed?

    Maybe...I have a vague recollection.

What's a decent Thai place with good beer?

Mostly of the Thai places I've been to in Pittsburgh were BYOB, but you should definitely check out Pusadee's Garden in Lawrenceville, maybe when Spring rolls back around. They have a lush outdoor garden / patio with dimly lit lanterns that light up at night, and it's the coolest outdoor seating venue in Pittsburgh. Nicky's Thai Kitchen is great too, but it's also BYOB.

Pusadee's is my favorite. But no beers.

But good street noodle and pumpkin curry.

I second Nicky's, I've only been to the North Side location I believe they have a downtown location too. North Side has a pretty nice outdoor seating spot, with heaters. I know there are heaters because my family insisted we eat outside 2 weekends ago, when the low was in the 30's.

We've been moderately impressed with Nicky's, but it's not worth the trek for us. Sesame Inn has a location less than two miles away from home and has serviceable Pad Thai and Brown Rice Shrimp Curry. So, we default takeout there and I match it up with a nice IPA.

    Yup, love their food.

It's tough finding any type of ethnic restaurant that has a good beer list. I feel like the majority are BYOB.

I'm the opposite, I haven't been to the North Side location. The downtown location is across the street and down a little bit from the Sharp Edge.

And that's funny. Snow flurries a few weeks ago and possibly in the 70's next week.

For the other South Hills folks in here - Thai Spoon in Dormont has good, inexpensive food, and is BYOB.

It's definitely meant to be consumed over so long a period of time. It's more like a liquor than a beer. No carbonation, bottle comes with an easily replaceable cork. No reason not to drink a bottle over the course of months or years.

I'll be working until the party starts. I'll probably hang out, check out costumes, and have a beer for half an hour or so after I'm off.

Wait, are you saying you paid an average of $1.29/beer including HH and Narwhal? Was this some sort of bizarre happy hour special, or on a special day or something?
