Backwoods Bastard 2015

yeah, seems like distance to founders directly effects when you get it, and how much it costs. But in the opposite way that it should.

So nice to see Backwoods Bastard, FBS, and the Porter all lined up in the fridge at Wholefoods in CA. Picked up a 4/6 pack of each for the Halloween festivities.

 

Neither do mine. In fact I don't believe I've ever had a Founders bottle with an embossed logo. Though I could be wrong, as I've never really looked either.

Also, the one's I purchased this year were bottled 9/24/15.

 

Ya mine were dated 9/26/15. Maybe we missed out and the still had the old bottles yet. My store said he's getting 3 more cases so I'll check and see if that's the case if he gets any later dated ones. Im guessing that's the deal.

 

When I went to Founders to grab my case last Saturday the cases on the counter were all dated from 9/24/15-10/6/15. I grabbed a 10/6 and my son in law grabbed him a 9/24/15.

 

Fellow BA messaged me earlier and said it was in Ann Arbor. Not sure where you are in SE Michigan but if your post is correct it looks like I'll be making a trip as this wait for it to drop in Monroe is getting stale.

 

Best of luck--I'm over in Farmington. So far I've found 1 shop in Livonia, and they were selling by the bottle. Everywhere else around me in Oakland Co says next week.

 

Just picked up some Backwoods Bastard today in Miami, FL at Total Wine & More. They were selling one 4pack per person at $15.99 a pop. Can't wait to try it!

 

I was at Russo's today in Grand Rapids. They had 30 cases of Backwoods there. $14.50 per 4 pack. I didn't get any because I picked up a case at Founders on Sunday. I won't make that same mistake again next year. Russo's always has the best craft beer prices.

 

One thing I noticed this year is the clarity of the beer. I remember the last few years the beer was very cloudy and when I saw it for the first time in a glass last night I was like wow, a BB beer that you can actually see through the glass. That's one thing that impresses me when beers are real high gravity yet are clear in appearance. One of the reasons I love DFH 90 min. So there's your odd thought of the day. Cheers!

 

Got a 4 pack at Spec's in Austin for $15 yesterday. My local HEB had them for $12 today, so I picked up another one. Whole Foods is selling them for $15 also. Not sure why there's such a big price difference from separate big box stores (except that I know Spec's always marks rare things way up). Seems like Austin got more than last year.

 

Just paid $15.16 in Barry County , MI. Higher abv but smooth as a bitch

 

which wholefoods is this? would love to pick up some backwoods bastard but haven't seen it around here yet.

Confirmed its landed in Ann Arbor. I picked up 2 packs for 15.99 each and they're in the fridge chilling down as I type. Finally!

 

Finally landed some in Florida. The two stores I visit had a huge price increase though, last year was 12.99 at both places now they're 15.99 and 17.99. Its getting a little steep so I wont purchase nearly as much as last year, ok maybe I will.

 

Any BB sitings in Massachusetts, greater Boston...North Shore?
