Anyone been up there already today? Planning on going at 4 and trying to gauge how busy it is....

I got there around 1pm and there was about 10-15 people in line and about 8-10 in the brewery. Took me about 35 minutes to get all my growlers filled and bottles. It was just like the old days with the lines and the buzz but thats what you get when you have a limited double release day, congrats to Scotty as High Kicks is totally legit, Bad Boy is frikin great as usual and Bobby had everyone chilled. Fun time, great beers, bravo Alpine !

    Cheers…..

They had already kicked one keg one hour in, the line was getting longer as I was leaving but I love the idea of limiting BB to one 64oz serving a day.

    Cheers…...

Got up there at 4, apparently that was the lull between the morning rush and the after work crowd. In and out, both brews are awesome....

Alright. I've had two bottles of now of the Green Flash Nelson. The first bottle was pretty darn good. Second bottle was slightly less impressive. I get the feeling Green Flash is on the right track. Nelson was decent. Hoppy Birthday was good. I don't give a shit about Duet, so whatever...

I'm with ya man. Nelson is getting really close. The nose is spot on, IMO, and the initial taste is on point. There's something ever so slightly off about the finish. Maybe not quite as spicy or "wine-y" as the original. Maybe a slightly fuller body too. But it definitely leaves me a happy man.

Drinking the first of my growlers of High Kicks right now. Congrats to Scotty on an absolutely amazing DIPA, honestly one of the best doubles Alpine has released. Massive tropical fruit bomb, great balance and scary drinkable at 9.4%.

    Cheers…...

I agree with you, the nose is spot on, it lacks just a bit of that orange juice sweetness and white wine notes from the Nelson hops, otherwise they seem to be getting closer and closer with each batch, plus there is bottle variation as I have had a couple GF bottles that were as good as the original juice.

    Cheers…...

Looks just like my haul from Tuesday but with a few more Nelsons and HFS tossed in for Holloween festivities.

    Cheers…...

Agree with bottle variance. I picked up a 6 pack of Nelson at Alpine about 3 weeks ago and picked up another 6 pack at a local liquor store last week. I had a bomber from brewery and one from liquor store side by side. The liquor store bottle had a slight oxidized finish reminiscent of the cigar city cedar beers the bottle from brewery was the best Nelson clone to date as mentioned in this thread. I'm assuming all the bombers in the GF bottles cane from same batch?

Was doubtful about the noticeable difference, but cracked open a new (GF) Duet, and incredibly bummed by it. Was largely passable, but then had a mouthwash aftertaste.

The duet shouldn't even be called a duet, it's something completely different. But like you said, it's a passable IPA, but even if you didn't care for duet to begin with, they aren't similar beers
