This is after about 1-2hrs of sleep and no caffeine as well. I think it would have been much much worse if I was slept and caffeinated. Probably some reference to a movie from the 60s, a random political view about a country ppl can't find on a globe, and then some weird math equation that barely makes any sense.

Never to early for beer... I mean coffee.

I'm a big fan of the grand prix but is anyone else slightly disappointed with the lineup this year, or at least the way the flights are organized? It would be nice to have each flight have a roughly unique theme (e.g. coffee variants, fruit added) so you don't have to buy an assorted bundle with stuff you probably won't like to get the stuff you probably would like. I'd honestly rather drink coors lite than fruited stouts, which are about half the beers this year.

I know Maple Blueberry, Banana Fosters, Peanut Butter and Jelly, and Oatmeal Raisin all have fruit in them, but they all sound like much more than simply a fruited stout. Maybe your hate for fruit in your dark beers is more than I can fathom, but I'd say give them a try before you knock them. They seem to be working with the base well; it's not like they made another Cucumber Speedway.

And, honestly, I do like that they A) gave each flight a coffee heavy one so you can try them separate without other coffee flavors covering the intricacies of each, and B) kept all nut related ones to a single flight, so those with allergies know immediately which flight to avoid. I think this is probably the most well organized they've ever had the flights for the Grand Prix.

I prefer it to be a mixed flight. Had this discussion elsewhere but it works on a couple different levels.

    1. You would then get to try variants you might have skipped over only to find out they are pretty good (or still terrible and thus now you know for certain)
    2. If each flight had a theme there would need to be like 6-10 different theme options to cater to everyone's varying palates (this is just dumb)
    3. Marketing 101 for alesmith, because now you would spend more to try all the ones you wanted to try

We may not like it, but we want to drink beer. They want to make beer and make money, it is a business after all.

Take this post however you feel, I am a huge alesmith fanboy (as if it wasn't obvious already), but I do still try to see all sides of it.

Yes, if there was just a coffee flight that is all I would get, even moreso if it was just 4 tasters of triple hammerhead, but gotta take the bad with the good. Besides..it's just beer, go with the flow.

Does anyone have more info on the barrel aged beernanza and bottle sale 11/8 and 11/9 Alesmith had in their newsletter? It's on their calendar of events as well but there's no info. This isn't the BA speedway and Hawaiian sale either.

It's the same thing as last year.

That's what I figured. Is this for on site consumption only or are they to go?
Or should I just shut up and go check it out next weekend?

I just like that they go on sale as the library sale starts this morning. They did it last year with bavss. Such entertainment.

Sorry, I'm not too familiar with Speedway's limited releases, just their standard beers. But are these bottles for sale today... the only way to buy them? Or would they also offer it at alesmith ?
    thanks
