I think I can help you out. Tell her that you haven't bought a 19 cu ft freezerlees fridge yet.

and I have been doing pretty well at drinking/giving away more than I have put into my basement this year.

 

Tell her if she brings it up again she's sleeping on the couch...period.

 

Changing the look might help a lot. Go to a store that will let you take home some empty beer boxes. Grab a box that will hold 4 six packs, and a box that will hold 12 bombers (and an extra box of either size depending on your needs). Put those beers away neatly and it won't look as bad. The collection will be nicely contained. It will also put a limit on it for yourself. If you end up with more bottles than storage, it's time to drink.

This. All day this. I know people with 1,000+ bottle cellars and often see/hear/read of them complaining beer they've opened isn't what they had hoped. Well no kidding a 2+ year old beer rarely will be. There is always more beer. Drink what you've got.

me: "But at least I'm not snortin' lines of coke or blowin' junior's college fund at the strip club, am I right?"


that's typically how that conversation goes, chapter and verse.

 

It also crossed my mind that those Miller boxes were hiding spots for @riverlen 's stuff he doesn't want to share when his craft-drinking buddies are over..

 

I was told the same thing recently. But it was more along the lines of drinking down what i have before i buy more.....which i should really do or just start buying mixed sixes.

 

So she's an enabler, like most women? Love and support, but then worries about it at the same time. She can't help herself.
I don't get the "you have too much beer", I get the "don't you already have enough beer?" Which we all know the answer to that question!

I was shocked when she came home from work early on Friday and I was on an, unknown to her, beer run and I didn't even get a second look or have a discussion about it!

 

My entire kitchen fridge door was filled with 12-oz bottles, then five bombers on the main top shelf. My wife said "It's an insane, embarrassing amount of beer."

 

Don't worry that type of "beer shaming" is how you usually end up getting a separate fridge just for beer.

 

Yep, I hear this one all the time..."don't you already have enough beer?" Thankfully I have learned to shrug it off or go with 2 decent counter arguments, 1) my wife, like many, has more then one purse & they continue to show up fairly regularly at a minimum once every calendar year but more than likely seasonal, why? I have ONE wallet..."don't you already have enough beer?" 2)Cheese, nobody questions buying & having multiple cheeses...but I digress.

 

First, this is one of the most impressive collection of beer I've ever seen. Your new BA alias should be "Cellar Guru"
Question: How often / How many bottles from this collection are drank each week vs. new additions being added to it? Just trying to see what it takes to build and maintain something even remotely close to this.

 

I wish i could post pics but I just shipped back from Germany to the states over 900+ bottles. Mostly higher ABV stuff from Belgium so it is able to stand the test of time. 200+ was from Cantillon/3 Fonteinen. I love them too much

Yeah its a lot but they should be plenty for lots of get togethers. Did i mention Ive gathered this only within just over a year.
