Thanks guys. In my mind I was thinking crowlers but it was a long day and it came out as growler. I'm still apprehensive about shipping any growlers. That being said, I'm looking forward to repping my favorite local brewery Point Ybel (see snifter from earlier #VBS pic)
I've shipped several TH Growlers lately, and they have all managed to arrive without exploding. Like @RuckIt said, grab a swing top, tape the hell out of the top, then bubble wrap the hell out of it and you should be ok. Put the Growler in a heavy duty trash bag as well just in case.
@LehighAce06 I'm in for Round 2... Sounds like a blast! Have I been to JOs or have I been lately? I've been there tons of times, used to play a lot of music there before it was JOs when it was called O'Hooleys. It is a solid 90min drive for me so I only get there about twice a year. I have lots of kids from my town that go to college at OU so I normally have them buy beer if I can't make it down. I was down in May for that release and plan on being down on Friday for the 10th Anny. Bottom line, you can't go wrong in Athens. It's a great college town, lots to do. Both JO's spots (brewery and tap room) are great. They should have lots of bottle to purchase so bring plenty of quids!
They sell bottles normally?? Any chance at snagging some of the better bottles or are they sold out ASAP? Sound's like I may have to bring some bubble wrap out!
I made 5 trips during the 6 days it was available and I'm not exactly that close to the brewery. The hype is real
Absolutely, was the star of the show at the Locals 2.0 bottle share back in May. And that's saying something, @LehighAce06 can attest to how crazy the lineup was at that share.
I suggest you wait till ..... "The Anniversary Extravaganza will be Dec. 4/5th. We will have an insane amount of different taps both days. We will not be holding a ticketed bottle release at the brewpub but, there will be some special bottles at the Taproom with a streamlined pick up system. 10 years is a big milestone and a celebration. We want to focus on that and party with everyone. More details will surface in the coming months." We'll be there all weekend.
This ^ @Greeny87 As of right now, I'm only going to be there Friday. Hoping the bust out bottles of the Cognac Dark App for sale that night! Keep an eye on the website, they keep a good tab of what's for sale that day - normally have 4-6 different things in bottles. The rare stuff/special release stuff gets released at certain times and then it sticks around for as long as it lasts so sadly, all that is gone right now (Oro, BBBM, etc.). CIF box is on it's way. Not only am I shipping to the north I'm also shipping in a westerly direction, super weird. Box should arrive Wednesday if my calculations are correct.

Darn! I'm gonna be there in nov for a business trip. Have a customer over in wellston, but staying in Athens for the night.
Damn, all you guys saying it's amazing is making me feel left out. I'm going to have to trade for some next release.
