Lost Abbey and sometimes the Bruery feels like wines that are kept in locked glass cases. Just out of my reach.

No matter how good this beer is, I will never be kicking myself for not spending $41 on it.

mass boycott, maybe the price will drop. I'll pass till it does. 3 bottles for $120+, that's what a case of DG goes for, and I much rather have that.

Did they have any in tap for purchasing customers to try? Like they do with Veritas

Had it last night, imo it's an awesome spiced beer. Nice and velvety smooth. I dig it.

They did not have it on tap. However Lost Abbey did a great job with the release. No lines and had bottles in hand in under two minutes. Plus they had some sold beers on tap as well. Maria Agave and Angels Share.

    720 (60 cases).

Apparently, their smallest bottle release ever.

It is not at all unreasonable to judge a beer based on taste vs. price. In your phrase "better" thats kind of a subjective term. Better value? Better tasting? Also cheaper can mean less expensive but it can also mean other things.

IMO, it's really good but not $41 good...very smooth and drinkable, probably the smoothest of all their stouts I've had...the adjuncts were there but not in an amount that would make me want to spend this much money...the chocolate was on point as was the bourbon, but it left me wanting slightly more vanilla and cinnamon. I only had a taster and it got tons better as it warmed up (as usual)...hoping that some time does wonders for my bottle...

When i think of all the horse#*# beers/six packs i've purchased, I've dumped alot more than $123 down the drain. If this beer was great, i'd go in on all three bottles. Tough call on this being a new beer, but the risk/reward seems doable.

Does LA still have QC issues? Wasn't that 4-5 years ago at this point?

I felt the same way, but I am glad I bough some bottles. Cracked one the other day and it is fantastic. Now I just have to get me hands on a BA abraxas and a BA Huna for side my sides....indeed more money will be spent haha

I happen to consider LA excellent, but that's just my opinion.
