Alpine coming to Colorado!?

Hmmm - picked up two Hoppy Birthday bombers at a beer store near DU on Evans yesterday. Velly tasty stuff.
Gotta say - they do hoppy right.....

 

I think I'm forever cursed to have mixed feelings about Alpine. Sometimes I think their beers are pretty good, other times (more often than not) I think they're too weedy and even headed slightly to onion town. Been that way for me long prior to Green Flash being involved, too. I leave more for the fans I suppose.

 

I never got onion flavor from an Alpine beer until the other night when I drank Hoppy Birthday after a Lagunitas Dopplesticky. I think that flavors are heavily influenced by what beer you had before. Hoppy Birthday is one of my favorite beers but I usually start with it and drink the stronger IPA's afterward. For the most part, I find that every beer that Alpine puts out is better than any of the 6 pack IPAs you will find brewed in Colorado, so I am happy that they are going to be distributing more, but as other people have said, I hope that their quality doesn't go down due to the partnership with GF.

Alpine makes some tasty brews, depending on what shows up, I'll probably buy some.
