    How did folks let him cut in line? What was his excuse?

    Delicious beers. Hopefully everyone that went was able to snag a bottle or two.

    Still maybe 10 cases of Carolus Magnus at Station. Calico Jack is sold out - I missed out unfortunately.

    -Nah, I was the douche dressed as walter sobchak at the share. I was making fun of myself in my post. I was sans costume the next morning, and way back in the line. I saw those guys running to the ATM, didn't know anything about any cutting though.

    @Zh78888
    Thanks for the info! I kept seeing people run in and then out of line and didn't know what was going on. Wow I really have no patience for people that do that

    I know quite a few people were going to get breakfast or coffee at the station, which I have no problem with. I do have a problem with people just going up to a group of people they know and start talking and staying with that group, knowing that they were never in line to begin with. Had a guy do that right as we were about to get in the doors, but I think he felt me burning holes in his back and decided to head to the back of the line. Hope he got shut out on Calico at least.

    I hear you on the breakfast part and I'm sure that happened a bunch.....but these guys walked up and started saying hello/shaking hands to everyone in the group. No way they saw them earlier.

    When that happens guys you have got to say something to these people. I know no one likes being confrontational, particularly at an event that's meant to be fun, but you just can't let yourself get taken advantage of. People around you will generally back you up.

    Agreed. People will always be dicks if no one challenges them.

    Wonderful event and share. Hit that line twice! Too bad about those who missed on the Calico Jack, but the Carolus is absolutely incredible. The owner/brewer Steven Lyerly told me he thought it was one of the three best beers he'd ever brewed. That - my fellow geeks - is a damn mouthful. So you've still got a shot at picking some of that up in Hickory. I wouldn't delay if I were you - it's honestly amazing. Cheers!

    Oh yeah - that guy dressed as Walter Sobchak is gettin' a bad rap. I spoke to him at length. Sure, he was a jerk... but he seemed to mean well. :wink:

    I thought Steven was right, the Magnus was stellar...so stellar in fact that I didn't mind you looking at me inquisitively, Wes, as I made the loop SEVERAL times and pulled right up on the curb to load up:grinning:! Olde Hickory kills it again! Both were amazing and I look forward to seeing how these beauties age...I am sure fantastically!

    I feel pretty confident that I would have at least started booing that guy. Then get everyone else to start booing. Then murder him.

    I wandered over to the BA Mexi Cake thread - to chat up a few of my SC boys about how good Calico Jack is... but the thread is on lock down. You can't like - you can't post - sheesh. Oh well. Calico definitely gives the big Cakes a run for their money, IMO. I'm going to post some photos from the share and release later today - meant to do it last night, but that Panther game was nuts & I got a bit lost in Knob Creek. Cheers!

    Apparently there were a couple of bottles of Calico Jack left at the tap room this morning. I got lucky with grabbing the last one according to the bartender.

    Glad to hear it the Calico is a winner! I'm a WB local and have a bottle headed my way, really looking forward to bringing this to our next share.

    Finally had both beers at an impromptu share up here in RVA last night and I gotta say I really liked the Calico Jack, but holy hell that Carolus Magnus is the bomb! It is one of the best quads I've ever tasted. If I had both bottles sitting in front of me and had to choose which I'd rather have I think it would have to be the Magnus.

    One friend said the Calico is like a Prairie Pirate Bomb clone that just happens to be in a bigger bottle (and cheaper). That is high praise (IMO) and great for any BAs wallet. Olde Hickory continues to knock these barrel aged beers out of the park. Great work, guys. Keep it up!
