Having a Magnus at the tap room right now. The nose is intoxicating!

 

A mere $60! I'm sure he's got more...

 

I'm super jealous. I came to get some bottles the other day and it wasn't on tap. I guess having a lindley park on draft isn't bad, but I wanted a magnus!

Also for those wondering, the taproom had a decent amount of CM in the cooler. Sadly no more CJ.

 

-It wasn't on tap, I got a bottle and drank it there. And I was hunkered around it like Gollum as it warmed. I think either the station or amos howard's has it on draft though.

 

I'm sad to have missed the StraightJacket. Fantastic American Barleywine.

 

Anyone happen to have a Carolus Magnus snifter to part with or know where I might be able to still find one? Thanks!

 

I was at the olde hickory station last month and they still had them

 

Fairly certain they still had them last weekend when I was there as well.

 

I'm really looking forward to whatever they put out next. Got into another Appalachian Walker and Carolus Magnus last night with some friends and i need more OH.

 

^ I'm right there with you. The last two releases have been very well run, orderly, and just downright fun! That, in addition to the exceptional bottles released make the trip to hickory very well worth it!

Hopefully they'll have a release this summer/fall. I'd love to see them put out another batch of Seven Devils in either bourbon or rum barrels (or both!)

 

I also really love that they have the production ability to make enough of these barrel aged wonders for everyone to have a chance at them. The only one I've missed out on was Calico Jack (if anyone wants to help a brother out, haha), but there was still Carolus Magnus at the station last month, and I was able to get a few bottles of App Walker as well as a few bottles of Omega Point. I really want to see what they are doing with those Macallan scotch barrels.

 

App Walker was sure a strange distro... seemed like a couple cases at the Station then last week a few random bottles showed up in the Triad. It felt like truck chasing to get one, when most places got like 4 bottles

 

I agree that the distro seemed strange. I drove up to OH taproom/station to try to find some and they were fresh out. I got ready to drive home, and I checked instagram and saw that Brown Mountain Bottleworks had some. BMB had a case on the shelf when I went, and I grabbed 6 bottles (got a couple for friends), and I expected them to tell me to put some back, but they didn't. In fact, they told me that they had "a ton" of it in the back. Looking back I wish I'd have had the money to grab them all...It's unreal how delicious it is.
