Many pubs here have signs reading "Fine Ales" , apparently the term "fine" isn't a claim to quality it just means that the beer is fined in the cellar.

Perhaps we could just call it beer and stuff like Budweiser " Near Beer"?

When I visit I will be sure to try and find fine fined ale.

I'm glad my taste buds know nothing about legal rulings.

We just go back to describing breweries as macro, micro and nano breweries. BMC cannot claim to be micro. Afterall, it was the industry that wanted us to call it craft.

I get where peeps are coming from about "not caring, if it's good beer I'll drink it" and the folks that feel "what was the pointof the lawsuit?, only the lawyers make money."

I'm curious about what a company like Boston Beer would have to say....

The terms "craft brewer" and "craft beer" really don't mean much any more--any more than "micro brew" did in the 90s.

And if your a fan of the term--is Boulevard any less a "craft brewer" or their products "craft beer"--outside of what the Brewers Association calls it-- just because ownership/partnership changed? Have a Rye on Rye and get back to me. Lagunitas anyone?

I don't like Blue Moon but honestly it is better than some of the "craft beer" I have had. People wanting to stick to big beer need to focus elsewhere or find something better to do.

The Brewers Association did not remove Boulevard from their "Craft Brewer" list, since they consider Duvel Moortgat a "craft" brewer. In fact, the combined US operations of Boulevard and Ommegang are now listed on the B.A.'s Top 50 Craft Breweries of 2014 at #12 as "Duvel Moortgat USA".
