I'm sorry to report that #2902 was also infected. Badly. So I'm not holding out any hope that #2904 is going to be any better...sigh.

849 is infected. Not horribly and it's still somewhat drinkable. Glad I found out about this sooner than later. Probably drain pour half the bottle and feel somewhat satisfied with my trade for it.

    Bottle 1992: Infected.
Still drinkable, though. Granted, I like funky/sour beers. I guess I'm lucky in that the infection is subtle enough that I can get past the cherry tartness/brett-like tastes and pick up on some of the actual beer. I'm impressed enough that I'd like to get my hands on a "clean" bottle sometime in the future.

Bottle # 1378 was slightly off, but not all the way gone. Certainly got worse the more it warmed though

Bottle # 1711 was infected--not wholly unpleasant, but definitely infected nonetheless.

Edit: we're a bit divided here (no pun intended)--I couldn't drink more than a few sips, one friend had about half his pour before calling it quits, and a third loves it. Everyone agrees on infection, however.

At this point I'm unconvinced that there are many uninfected bottles at all, if any. The "infection" likely developed over time, and depending on when you drank it, storage conditions, and pure random nature, it may have been very slight to undetectable, and thus seemed fine. Also, some people are less sensitive to this type of infection than others, so it's possible some people are missing it, because the beer is still very drinkable and tasty.

My guess is this is turning out kind of like 2009 Kate the Great. Fresh nobody suspected much of anything as it tasted great, but slowly over time there were more and more complaints about it going a bit sour. Eventually the consensus, particularly from the brewer, was that the port just wasn't aging well at all.

This could be something similar, where it's not an infection per se, but something about the blend is not quite aging as intended, and thus lending the sour flavor.

FWIW, I had a bottle a few weeks ago but forgot about this thread - number somewhere in the 2300-2600 range, and it was definitely infected. I still drank the whole bottle, as I didn't find the tartness unpleasant, but it certainly got in the way of the beer. I have one other bottle, that at this point I'm totally expecting to be much of the same, so I'll probably drink it sooner rather than later, as time isn't going to be pretty to this one.
