Was just down at Whole Foods on 3rd and 3rd this morning and they had Singlecut 18 Watt. Was either 5.99 or 6.99. Maybe Stinky Brooklyn on Smith if you get lucky on the Grimm front.

But making assumptions about people you've never met or talked to and then judging their ability to draw enjoyment from something based on those assumptions (while simultaneously deciding you already don't like them) is significantly easier.

And to the point about craft beer turning into a luxury market - craft beer ISN'T turning into a luxury market. If anything, it's going the opposite way - craft beer is found in almost every major grocery store in the country, corner stores, and gas stations. Delicious and well-crafted beer is available to a broad swath of people who would have turned their noses up twenty (or even ten) years ago.

"Craft Beer" is not a luxury market... THIS BEER is. Other Half is, I can only assume, doing VERY well financially. Sam and Matt seem to be constantly traveling to distant markets to collaborate with other brewers and share their beer at festivals. Their beers rarely stay on any tap in the city for longer than a few days. They could, very shortly, explore how to expand into a larger, more industrial brew space and brew in significantly larger batches. But, they don't. They don't want to. Other Half is a luxury item because of Other Half, not because of the "bros" who want the same thing you do.

If people are going to mule, people are going to mule. There is such a tremendous deluge of delicious beer available almost everywhere right now. It might be the case that you don't get any of THIS very sought-after release, but we shouldn't be confusing our own self-righteousness with a larger statement about the state of the industry.

Quick question; are their can releases always a crap show, or is it just because of Street Green?

I like their beers a lot but I get to try almost everything on tap throughout NYC without putting in a lot of effort...can't imagine getting in like at 9AM for their normal can releases. I'm planning on visiting sometime soon for the first time would love to get some cans of a normal release for a buddy, but I'm not going to wait hours for them.

Will probably just swing by The Jeffrey event on Saturday and try some of their offerings I've never had.

They aren't usually that bad, you can generally show up into the early afternoon and grab the cans without a line.

Street green is good. So hazy it's totally opaque. I think it's a nice marriage between these breweries

    What does it taste like?

It has the usual juiciness you get from a Trillium IPA with the resin/bitterness you typically get from OH. Nice mix of hop bite and juicy hops

Never been to OH before, or had any of their beers.

Would it be worth a Friday day trip from Philly to check it out, with a buddy, to get some cans and growlers of anything decent (IPAs)? We could get there early as possible, for what its worth.

Just kind of want to know when would be the most advantageous time to go. I see they open at 5 on Fridays.

Can releases are on Saturday so no cans available Friday. Unless Doug cans are still hanging around?

Just talked to Sam Calagione about the OH collab. He seemed really excited about it. For those who can't make it to NYC for it, he says they will be serving it during EBF next year.

I wasn't fully a believer before, but the hype is real. They really kicked the keg on a weeknight?
