I'll be in town in two weeks and planning to stop at Cigar City, Cycle, 7venth Sun, & Green Bench. Mainly those four as I'm photographing them. I'm also looking for a great bar to hit up to try stuff that I can't get where I live now (MI & IN). And what about a store in the area? Thanks!
I'll go ahead and post this because someone else will if I don't: http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...lando-look-here-first-summer-15-update.296658 But I am also interested in any additional recommendations since I'll be there in 3 weeks.
You should try and make it into Angry Chair brewing before you hit Cigar City. The Jug & Bottle (growler/bottle shop) is right down the street and is also pretty cool. http://angrychairbrewing.com/ http://jugandbottledept.com/site/ After you hit 7th sun check out the Dunedin house of beer. It's within walking distance and they have a great rotating tap list. http://www.dunedinhob.com/ The Ale and the Witch is probably the best tap house in St. Pete imo. http://thealeandthewitch.com/ Luekens liquors for bottles. http://www.luekensliquors.com/ Enjoy!
This is the updated thread for Winter '15. Kudos to @BKnarr Check it: http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...ando-look-here-first-winter-15-update.333919/ /thread ps Go Blue
I love Cycle, but frankly, not much to photograph. Peg's was nicer. But if it's a gig... Now Coppertail, on the other hand, isn't in the prettiest of surroundings, but on the inside it's a phenomenal tap room. Open. High ceilings. Bring a good wide angle lens. Excellent beers too. Brews Banner is in my list of top IIPAs for sure.
I prefer Hops and Props over the Ale and the Witch as far as having a great local tap list. They are both very close to each other however, so may as well visit both
Part of the shooting in the area is a gig, but Cycle is not part of the gig. I knew Cycle started at Peg's but I didn't know it's two totally different locations now. I emailed them to check. Thanks for the tip.
Had a great time last week. Was able to stop by/shoot Green Bench, Cycle, Cigar City, Coppertail, and 7venth Sun. GB, 7venth Sun, and Coppertail were my favorites and my visits were more like hanging out with the brewers than photoshoots. Wish I had more space to bring home bottles and then on the plane I was kicking myself after remembering I could of brought a styroshipper to check or even ship to myself. The two I'm most excited to crack are Green Bench's Manaphin and their Sour Blend #3. Anyways, still working on the photos but here's two of Khris Johnson of Green Bench pouring their new Petit Provision, a beer I highly recommend if you like dry, wild saisons. I'll post again when I'm done with the photos and they're on my site.
well done. breweries can be pretty challenging when it comes to lighting. it was great meeting you man!
Thanks! Green Bench was so great to work with. I mean they all were, but hanging out with Khris was pretty cool. I can't wait to open that. Saving for a share with a few buddies when I go back home for Christmas. Especially when I forgot my tripod. I'm sure it was great meeting you as well but I'm not sure who you are from your BA name. Can you remind me?
