TDH Nelson is still my favorite in the series, but Simcoe was awesome last time. Looking forward to bottles and a growler on Friday.

I thought simcoe was a little better than nelson. Did 4 growlers of nelson. I'll likely do 6 of simcoe

Rush Hour is released sporadically throughout the year. Do you mean Midnight Rush? Are they doing that again this year?

Rush Hour has been put on draft several times this year, mostly using Slow Train coffee, and once with the original Cafe Corazon coffee for the GABF batch, but it hasn't been bottled since last December. Before that, they did the sporadic releases like they do with Piece of Cake, but it seems the plan is to make Rush Hour a yearly bottle release. They've been teasing Rush Day on social media, but no date has been announced. I'd expect to see Midnight Rush again, but they also have Autumnus and others sitting in barrels, so there might be something new as well.

Ya I get the feeling some kind of Rush event is in the works, maybe with some barrel aged goodies

IIRC it was sometime in the middle of December last year. Maybe they'll do that again this year.

It was dec 20th. Waited in line while sprinkling. Piece of cake via growler was excellent. So much better than any of the bottlings.

    I'd bet on mid-December, then.

The early PoC bottle runs were lacking in coconut and vanilla to the point that it was basically just Rush Hour. I'm not sure I could have told the difference in a blind tasting. They've gotten better though, and I think the last 1-2 releases have been as good as it is on draft. Not a beer to let sit around for a long time, of course. When it's on point, it's my favorite T-S beer, and probably my favorite milk stout.

This is "unofficial" as it wasn't confirmed by a TS staff member yet. But Rush Day will be 12/12

Now confirmed, Rush Day is 12/12/15. Some preliminary details on the beers being released:

"Get your mugs ready for Rush Day 2015, the day TSBC celebrates artisan coffee and coffee infused beers! This run of Rush Hour Breakfast Stout will feature Brazilian Coffee from “Fazenda Samambaia Farm” roasted by local artisan roaster Leo Rios of @cafecorazon

We will also be releasing Barrel Project Series #2 called Autumn Rush. A Hazelnut and Coffee infused Imperial Milk Stout aged in Bourbon Whiskey Barrels. It clocks in at 11.8% and is also infused with the same coffee as this batch of Rush Hour.

More details about the event to come in the next week or so."

I don't know if it's still on, but the Grilled Pineapple IPA they had last weekend was delicious. TDH Simcoe didn't disappoint either.

    Beer Descriptions

Rush Hour – Breakfast Stout 7.2% ABV
Rush Hour is our full-bodied breakfast stout that was created in collaboration with local roaster Café Corazón in Fresno, CA. Each year we use a different strain of coffee hailing from different regions of the world to provide a very unique experience. The coffee is roasted and ground just days before each batch and is cold pressed and infused into our chocolate milk stout. This combination creates a creamy, bold, robust, yet silky smooth breakfast stout. We have truly captured the essence of Breakfast in this beer and hope you “Enjoy the Rush!”

Autumn Rush – Barrel Aged Hazelnut Imperial Breakfast Stout (Barrel Project #2) 11.8% ABV
Autumn Rush is the second release of our Barrel Aged Project Series. This Imperial Breakfast Stout features an infusion of hazelnut and locally roasted coffee. We took three different Tioga-Sequoia specialties and aged them in a blend of High West, and Heaven Hill whiskey barrels. Look for bold flavors of fresh roasted coffee, hazelnut and dark chocolate, with delicate flavors of oak, bourbon whiskey, and dark fruit as it warms. Enjoy now or cellar for later.

    I Want S’more – Dessert Stout 7.2%
Our elegantly delicious milk stout that is meant to be the second variant in our dessert stout series. We infuse our milk stout on Organic Ecuadorian Cocoa Nibs, Madagascar Vanilla Beans, and natural marshmallow flavor to represent a similar experience of a S’more. The perfect beer for sharing with friends over an open fire or as a dessert. Only made in limited quantities throughout the year, this beer will have you saying “I Want S’more!”

Piece of Cake – Dessert Stout 7.2% ABV
This elegantly delicious sweet stout was created to be the perfect dessert beer. We age our chocolate milk stout on freshly ground coffee, Madagascar vanilla beans, and toasted coconut to represent a similar flavor experience to a German Chocolate Cake. When you find yourself looking for something different, grab a Piece of Cake!

    Coffee Infused in our beer
Fazenda Samambaia 100% Yellow Bourbon Pulped Natural

The cool, green hills of Sul de Minas provide ideal conditions for coffee growing and produce some of Brazil’s finest specialty lots. The region is known locally as ‘Vertentes’ and forms a border between two very important river basins in Brazil: the Grande River Basin (which runs to the south) and the São Francisco River Basin (which runs to the northeast).

Thanks to @thebeerprophet and Tioga-Sequoia for a great event! The line to buy bottles and get in moved smoothly (and thanks to Dana for passing out her beer cookie samples while we all waited!). Flat Bottom Grills' Rush Hour Pulled Pork was outstanding. And having on-demand screen printing of shirts was a fun touch. My only suggestion for next year would be to set up a second tap station with the Rush Day beers. The line to get a pour was a bit nuts at times.

    As to the beers:

Rush Hour and Piece of Cake are as good as ever. The '14 Midnight Rush has aged well, shedding some of the alcohol heat it had when fresh. The base milk stout on nitro was nice, although it isn't amazing on its own.

Autumn Rush was great, as long as you like hazelnut. I do, so it worked for me. It is better balanced in that respect than Autumnus, though. Rich coffee, chocolate, and hazelnut, accented by bourbon, and not too sweet.

All the Mornings was the highlight of the day, by far. I'd put it only behind Good Morning for maple stouts I've had. Tons of maple and coffee. The maple really jumps out at you on the aroma, too.

I Want S'More was just alright. It definitely evokes s'mores, but I was a bit put off by the artificial tasting marshmallow. The original batch was better, I think.

All the Mornings was the star of the show today. Hopefully they can recreate the flavors of the pilot batch in a full size batch.
